Olive Branch Animal Clinic: Wilburn, Ruth DVM

I brought my lab pup to the clinic to be neutered. After picking him up I noticed his mouth was bleeding. I called the vet and she said yes she saw blood but thought he bit his tongue. When I told her his tooth was broken she informed me it was probably from the rabies pole they used on him. I received no apology or an offer to pull the tooth until I told them I would be taking him to another vet and they were financially responsible for the tooth. I then got a callback to bring him there and they would look at it. I will never, never take another animal to that clinic. more

So I did love this Clinic into today. I am trying to save a dog life from the Animal shelter that will be put to sleep Wednesday the 24th of August 2011 that 2 days away. It has hartworms and the only way for the shelter to give it to me is for me to have a vet write and letter saying that I will bring it in to them and have it taken care of. But this vet office said no because I have not gone into see them enough. So they would rather see an animal die then live and they call themselves a vet wow more

I came to this place after having a really bad experiance with a previous vet that cost one of my dogs her life. Dr. Ruth as well as the animal care specialist at this establishment were very kind and compasssionate. They helped me make the right decision for my pet. I have since become a big fan as well as client of Dr. Ruth as well as tthe staff there. I have never had a bad experience, nor has my pets. They take exceptional care of all your pet needs, really listening to you, as well as offering great advice. I use them for all my animal care, and will always as long as they are in business. I live 30 miles away but for the care they give, as well as the compassion they have for pets, I would drive even further to reach them. If you value your pets and want the best care available this is the place. I am glad I found them. Oh as far as pricing, it is very reasonable, and they do not pad the bill like some will. more

Recently my puppy Molly, got sick. We took her in to OB Animal Clinic and she was diagnosed with Parvo. Everyone there took such good care of her. They always updated me when I called. They let me visit daily. I'm happy to say my Molly survived. I know it's because of the wonderful care she received. The price of the care, did not break the bank. Which I am forever grateful. I have 4 dogs and 4 cats and they all go there. Great vets, great staff. I highly recommend. (Thank you everyone at OB Animal Clinic for saving my Molly and the wonderful care.) more

Dr. Ruth Wilburn has been so wonderful in the care she provided for our little angel Sadi. We purchased our daughter a Toy Poodle for her birthday and she became sick almost instantly. Dr. Ruth stayed with our puppy through the night, took care of her and tried to sustain her for us. It is our regret that Sadi did not live despite all the efforts from so many people. Dr. Ruth, thank you for going the extra mile and for all the phone calls and updates. You were wonderful. more

I don't have kids, so my dogs are my children. I may be a little high maintenance when it comes to them, but I just don't feel that my animals are getting the service they deserve and that I am paying for! Everytime I have boarded them, I have had an issue. Most have been minor and one really significant. With the economy the way it is, we all have to watch how we spend our money. I was at work on Saturday when my daughter called crying so hard I couldn't understand her. Our puppy 15 wk old puppy JoJo had been attacked by another dog. My husband ask me where to take her so I said ob animal clinic, its the closest. He handed her to the vet & he thought she was already dead. they said it looked like the dog was trying to kill her, she had puncture wounds on her throat. swelling had set in and she couldn't breath well. She was put on an IV, given antibiotics & pain meds, the vet took her home with her to give her round the clock care. She called to update us on her condition. She was alive, but she was worried about her breathing. I called Monday & they said she could come home that afternoon, so my husband picked her up. I saw her the first time when I got off work, her head & throat were so swollen , I picked her up & cradl her for two hours crying, I knew what a miracle this really was. We have four cats and two dogs all of which have received excellent care from Dr's Ruth and Ellis. We were referred to Dr. Ruth after a very negative experience at a Veterinary Clinic that is very close and we're so glad we followed up on the recommendation. It's worth the drive just for the care and compassion that is shown by both Dr's and staff. We also had to bring in our Persian to have her groomed in a Lion Cut because she has developed an allergy to her fur and when we got her back she was beautiful! She is the only one of our cats that we can't trim the claws on (it's hazardous to our health!) and every time she is done efficiently and with no fuss at Olive Branch.\r \r We've never had an issue with any emergency calls or last minute ""drop in's"" never having had to wait more than 15 minutes. Outstanding service well worth the drive! Pros: Dr's Ruth and Ellis, exemplary veterinarians that are both caring and professional. Cons: none so far. more

Dr. Ruth is simply fantastic. I totally trust my dog babies to her! I have a big dog that I board and groom there and he loves it. The prices are a little high but I don't know that I would find such good service anywhere else for less. more

I travel a lot and have to board my dog whenever i am away and my dog loves it here. They are very caring. My dog is cage aggressive and is very picky about who takes care of him. He has no problems going into the building and whenever we start driving up the driveway towards the building he gets excited. more

I have lived in memphis for almosy 20 years I have 5 inside cats and 2 large dogs, after trying several vets. I have found the perfect Vet. They are very compassionate and listen. When I brought all 5 cats in at once they were very patient and the prices were reasonable, very reasonable. They listened to me and took time to explain and answer all my questions. Which were many! I live in Memphis but the drive is worth it. And The service was GREAT!!!!!!!!! I would recomend them to all. Espically those whose heart for pets is bigger than their bank account! I live in midtown Memphis and have tried several different vets in the years that I've had Cupid and Crow. On a family recommendation I traveled to the Olive Branch Animal Clinic and I have to say it is well worth the drive every time. Not only are Dr. Ruth and Dr. Ellis knowledgeable in their profession and wonderful with the dogs, but they do what most doctors don't. They listen. I strongly suggest, no matter where in the tri-state area you live, that you take the extra time out of your schedule and take your pets exclusively to them. Pros: Amazing doctors, beatiful location, they take their time with you and a great kenneling service. Cons: A bit of a drive, no appointments except for surgery and a rather rude receptionist. more

first I must say that a lot must go into your grooming experience, when we took our bichon into your clinic on friday june 9th I had no idea what a pitiful job was going to be done to our dog. I will never take our dog here again nor will we ever refer your clinic for a professional groom. It looks to us that your groomer has no clue in what she is doing, and should be either fired, replaced, or at the very least given the right training!!!! Cons: terrible groomer more

We took our animals to this vet when we first moved to Olive Branch. We went mainly because of the location. The prices seem a little steep. The staff is wonderful. We had a dog that only one person could handle to groom him, and she worked here. The facility is huge and extremely clean. Convience is a huge key in getting in and out of the vet. The driveway is long, but the parking lot is nice. The vets is a husband/wife team caters to all types of animals and has been known to make house calls if necessary. more
