Best Mediterranean 7/9/2007

The food at Olive Bistro is by far the best Mediterranean in this city. Love the hummus, tabboulih, baba ganoj, grape leaves, lamb and feta. I have also tried alot of the great sandwiches, the falafel is my favorite. My wife loves the chicken caesr wrap. We have sampled and tried this type of food in many Atlanta places, but Olive Bistro is heads above. Pros: Food, Service, Parking Cons: na more

Great Sandwiches, Salads, Kebobs 7/8/2007

I had heard from friends that Olive Bistro at Ponce had great food, but had no idea that the sandwich and salad selection would be so varied. My first visit was with friends and they all had a wide selection of very tasty, fresh appetizers and wine. I opted for a sandwich and a greek salad, and that was so much food. The sandwich I had was the eggplant, and it was so good. I love eggplant and they do it right. The feta on the greek was very fresh and smooth. You could tell it was very good quality. I loved the greek dressing. They make it from scratch and I bought some to go. I used it at home all week and it was as fresh on the last day as the first. Great olive oil. Next time I had the antipasto salad and what a meal. It is so generous and all of the ingredients from the artichokes to the salami were so very fresh. Again, I went for the greek dressing.I also tried the hummus and olive tapenade before the salad with my husband and we loved it all. I took home more greek dressing. I now buy their greek dressing, and caesar dressing and keep it on hand when I cook. I do not cook as much anymore as I stop by Olive Bistro on the way home from work and pick up take out at least twice a week. They have so much to choose from, from salads, appetizers to veggies, eggplant and great chicken and lamb for my husband. I highly suggest the kebobs if you are having a party. I picked up kebobs and had friends over and everyone raved. They had them ready, I asked them to leave them in marinade and I then grilled them on my own grill. Great stuff.I just call in my take out and on my way home, it is ready.Saves me time and is easy on my budget as well..We have tried many things, but not yet everything, as there really is a great selection. We love it all. See ya soon Olive Bistro.I love it because now they are open 7 days a week Pros: Food, price, service Cons: Add more kebobs, add a veggie, please more

Veggies Galore with Great Wine 6/25/2007

I do not eat meat, but love greek, middle eastern food.My friends took me to Olive Bistro. I moved to Atlanta three years ago and never knew this place was there until they took me this weekend. Pros: food, wine, service Cons: na on this trip more

Eggplant Excitement 6/25/2007

Simply, eggplant prepared out of this world. Love the baba and the eggplant sandwich. The marinated eggpalnt is also great. I cannot cook eggplant properly, nor does my wife. I always over grill it, burn it, whatever, but this stuff is always the ebst and so cheap, so no need for me to learn how. My wife loves all of the emze and my friends and I love the meze as well, but the lamb is my main meal. The lamb is always tender, very good quality for the price. I have had more expensive lesser lamb. This lamb is cooked right, priced right and tatses out of this world. Love the merlot with the lamb or the pinot noir. Really good wines and great prices. This is the best Mediteranean in Atlanta. I keep trying to vote for Olive Bistro, best mediterranean, but your list does not have it. What is wrong with you guys, you should have olive bistro at the top of your list. Great food. more

Best Falafel, Outstanding Grape Leaves and Eggplant 5/15/2007

We found a touch of the true Mediterranean on Ponce. Who knew? We found this place on our way to Borders Pros: Food, wine, prices, service Cons: Can get busy at lunch rush, may have to wait, but not too long for a table, try the bar more

Try Worst Falafel. 4/17/2007

BAD Mediterranean. I came here because another reviewer said it was the ""best Falafel in Atlanta."" Hardly!! Not even close. I had the Grape Leaves, Falafel Sandwich and the Hummus. The Grape leaves were flavored with All-Spice or something that did not belong. I tried to try another one hoping I could acquire the taste but I found them to be awful even the bland attempt at yogurt sauce could not save them. The falafel sandwich was bland and was some of the worst I have had. The Hummus was uneventful. Try someplace else! Cons: Food, Service, more

Mediterranean Vegetarian Nirvana! Best Falafel In Atlanta! 3/3/2007

This was my first visit to The Olive Bistro on Ponce, in the Whole Foods Shopping Center. This small corner cafe, is not fancy. I was not looking for fancy, but some good and fresh Mediterranean. And did I ever find it. The enclosed glass case, showcasing all the wonderful freshly made salads--Greek, Tabbouleh, Pesto Bowtie, Rice & Lentils Tuscan Bean, and a wonderful whipped Hummus. I had a good idea what I wanted, but when my very nice server, said the fresh made soup of the day was Lentil, I knew where to start. It was just perfect, with a side of warm Pita. I settled on The Mediterranean Platter, with a choice of four items. It said w/ tzatzike or tahini sauce. I got both. Perfect. I chose Falafel, the best in Atlanta, another person said the best outside Israel, chunchy, Tabbouleh-just the right amount of lemon juice and mint, Grape Leaves- stuffed w/rice, pine nuts, and spices, and that creamy hummus-dusted with paprika and drizzled with Olive Oil. This place is pure Nirvana! Get healthy, come to the Olive Bistro. One of my new fave's! Pros: Everything!--Falefel, Hummus, Tabbouleh, Grape Leaves! Great Prices! more
