I hope these posts can save people/pets from going through these nightmares. I was visiting my sister and boarded my 6 month old Golden here for 3 nights. After the 3rd night, we called to see if the dogs were ready for us to pick up. Dr. Hicks got on the phone and told me that my puppy had really bad loose stools Friday, and this morning they noticed he had been scratching himself and they started him on antibiotics. When I picked him up, he was a different dog. He looked like a weak, skinny stray. His neck and elbow were bleeding and oozing. He was so weak, I can't imagine what he had gone through. I took him to another vet the next day when he was worse. They had to sedate him and shave the areas. It was a bad staph infection that had spread to his chest and under his arm. I had to pay $565 to this vet (Dr. Lee, who was very thorough, probably too thorough, but at this point I was so scared, I just wanted my puppy to be okay)to save my dog. He said he had been ignored/neglected and I was lucky flies/maggots did not get to him. I do not understand why this ""Dr."" Hicks did not try to call me or my sister at all. She boarded her puppy there also and he also got staph, just not as bad. After reading these, I guess I am lucky my Cody is alive. I am filing a complaint with the state. Dr. Hicks charged me for the stay, and was very cold and unremorseful on the phone and in person.
Pros: free ice cream, cute building
Cons: staph in boarding facility
