This house is on the National Historic Register. It belonged to Henry Dering. He was a soldier in the revolutionary war. He came from Lancaster, PA in 1796 and established a Tavern here. He was my ancestor. On one visit here, I asked if I could look upstairs, and I did. Nothing but storage there now. So treat it kindly and say nice things about it.
Charles J. Fickey (mother nee Dering)
