Old South Barber Spa

I had my wedding party come to Old South before the big day. It was a great experience, The girls working are very friendly and accommodating. We had lunch delivered and were able to drink a few cocktails while getting serviced. The Old South Blade Shave is awesome and the the scalp massage was very relaxing. more

This was my second annual visit to OSBS as I visit Charleston each year for business. I made my appointment again with Sherry for a haircut and shave. What I appreciate about Sherry is that she takes her time and never makes you feel rushed. While I was very pleased with the haircut, the entire shave process was extremely relaxing with multiple hot and cold towels and applications of lather and various lotions. What would make OSBS even better for me would be private areas at the shop where you can relax and enjoy the shave experience and not listen to the conversation taking place from the next chair. Speaking of the chairs, they are comfortable but don't allow you to fully extend your legs but that is more common with modern barber chairs. I am looking forward to next year! more

Not at all what I was expecting. The photos looked nice, but the service and haircut experience was really bad. I paid way too much for what I got as well. The stylist were all women (not a problem) but they were caddy and gossiped the entire time.The topics of money and who did what - made me quite uncomfortable. I came to relax - sorry guys. I wish this one would have been better. more

Our wedding planner recommended The Old South Barber Spa to us, great call. This is the perfect place to relax and chill with your groosmen before the big ceremony. It is a first class place with great stylists and staff. It is a real Charleston experience for those of you from out of town considering Charleston to get married. I recently had my Groomsmen in town from the UK, Ireland & USA. We spent the AM at The Old South Barber Spa, enjoyed whiskey, shaves, haircuts, etc. The staff was great and very professional, the building beautiful and made us feel like we were in the old south at the turn of the century. Joe and his staff were incredible. I can not thank them enough!!! They opened the doors for my groomsmen and me to get ready the morning of my wedding. We were able to relax and get shined up for the wedding. The atmosphere of Old South, relaxing and stress free, is exactly what I needed that morning. Cool old school place set in late 1700's setting. Bar, cigars, fireplaces, original woodwork, courtyard, massage rooms with full showers, internet,etc. Easy to park or walk from my hotel. A very charming place with a great friendly and professional staff. Visited with my dad from Atlanta and he loved it. Wish I live Charleston for many reasons, this being one. A true Southern Gem for Men! Great atmosphere, friendly & knowledgeable staff, free complimentary cocktail and shoe shine with any service. The hot lather straight razor shave that I had was amazing. Massage rooms with fireplaces and full showers. Easy to make appointments on-line and you even get a reminder in advance of your appointment. A nice touch is when you receive a thank you note via mail for visiting The Old South. I did not have the pleasure of meeting the owner but wanted to let he or she know, job well done!\r \r If you are in Charleston,SC make sure you visit this place. Great place! Where else can you get an awesome haircut in really comfortable chairs and friendly staff while you are sipping on your favorite cocktail. Then walk outside to the patio and have a cigar and go back in for a massage. Fiona is a wonderful stylist and I have been seeing her for 5 years. Had a massage from Grace and that rocked also. I always wanted to get a massage and old-fashioned blade shave and massage and the experience was terrific. Definitely 5 star accomodations at reasonable prices.
