Order the Chicken Mole Enchiladas. Or if you're there for brunch, the Avocado Omelette. They're both AWESOME. But everything I've ever had here has been great. Oh, and here's a tip: If you want your meal a little spicier, as your server for the Habanero hot sauce. They make the stuff in house, fresh and it is so flavorful and gives food just the right amount of kick. Yum! more

The BEST Mexican food on the Central Coast 6/14/2009

We love Mexican Food. Old Juan's Cantina was recommended to us, and although we live in Paso Robles, we do drive there for dinner occasionally. My husband LOVES Carne Asada, and said theirs is the BEST ever, as is the Chili Verde, Guacamole, and Margaritas! Pros: Excellent Margarita's and Carne Asada Cons: The wait...first come first serve more

Highly recommned this place 10/25/2008

We read the very positive review of this restaurant in both Los Angeles Times and Sunset magazine. It was as described. The atmosphere is unique and fun. We had the spinach enchiladas and tortilla soup. Lots of spinach and lots of flavor. It was served hot and fast. Service was very friendly. We never ran out of chips and salsa. At the servers suggestion, we tried a margarita they call a ""perfect"" margarita. It was the best I have had. Its served in a martini glass. I highly recommend this place. Pros: Margarita, Spinach enchiladas, tortilla soup Cons: long wait to get seated (at least on the friday we were there) - they told us they are expanding which should help more

As toxic as Avila beach in the 90's 9/25/2007

First things first... I am 30 years old and have lived on the east coast most of my life. This means that I have had my share of bad mexican food. It wasn't till tonight that I had the worst food on the planet. I cant even explain it... It was just gross, but I ate it anyway. Pros: No line and HOT wairess Cons: chips, food, and watress lied about tamales quality more

Great mexican food; reasonable price 6/9/2006

Old Juan's serves really good mexican food in a typical family-style restaurant setting, which is rare for mexican restaurants on the central coast. It is a locals' favorite. I really enjoy the small tostadas, but the rest of their food is yummy too. I usually end up there with my parents for a decent all-around meal in a nice atmosphere. more

Great experience 12/1/2004

Great, fun and unique atmosphere. Near the beach and right down the road from Oceano Dunes. If there is a wait it always goes fast and the food is served hot and quick! Pros: atmosphere, great food more
