The food was great, atmosphere was fun and cost was good for the quality and amount of food we had. The music was great and our waitress recommended a great German beer. We will be back to sample some different foods at this restaurant more

A Good German Restaurant This resturaunt has great atmosphere the polka band and the unique bar. The food is consistently served hot, to-order and in large portions. The atmosphere reminds one of a traditional Swiss-German mountain inn and is best experienced on a rainy afternoon. The interior decorated very nice. The prices of well-prepared meal are very reasonable. The staff is consistently professional and friendly and maintain a clean establishment. Take an hour or two out of your busy schedule and enjoy a quiet meal and drink at this German hideaway Old Heidelberg. more

A+!! 8/16/2011

Great Find!! My boyfriend and I went here for lunch today. This was our first time going so neither of us really knew what to expect. When we first arrived it didn't look all the great from the outside so when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised to find a much nicer place then I guess I had envisioned. It was not overly crowded (as I had anticipated) for it being noon on a Saturday so we were able to be seated right away. Service was good. It didn't take them long to get our food back out to us. We both ended up ordering the same thing to eat – The Schweinebraten,. I had never had anything like it before - pretty unique flavor and oh so yummy!!! I would give this place an A+!! We will definitely go back again!! more

The Best!! 7/24/2011

Best Sauerbraten in the World! I had a better sauerbraten here than in Munich. The servers are all wonderful, the gentleman we had yesterday was hysterically funny and gave great service. This place is about an hour's drive for me, and completely worth it! more

Hardy German food! 7/20/2011

Decent selection of German beers that pair perfectly with the hardy German food. All awesome, all delicious. Reminds me of the bier halls of Munich! Love this place. From the authentic menu, to the lighting as dark as the bier. Great for groups. The portions are generous and the goulash soup will knock your liederhosen off. It's everything you love about Germany and none of the history of fascism you hate. Don't walk or goosestep- run! more

Never had a bad meal.. 6/1/2011

I have been going to Old Heidelberg for yrs now. . I have never had a bad meal or bad experience. The food has always been the correct temperature. Service has been great. I wish people would try and remember that McDonald's is not the criteria for judging service. There is a difference between fine dining and drive-thru. I would always recommend Old Heidelberg to anyone more

Firstly, best German food in the city. Warning to small ladies and people who generally don't eat ginormous portions: SHARE! The sausage platter is out-of-control amazing. The potato salad and saurkraut is the best I've had with the exception of those I tried at my German grandmother's church dinner 8 years ago. Secondly, excellent German beer choices and authentic old-school german-style decor more
