Old Drover's Inn

we went to Old Drovers on a friend's recommendation and stayed Saturday night as well as ate in the Taproom for dinner. The dinner was amazing, there are very romantic old-style candles on the tables and the atmosphere was very intimate with the original low ceilings and construction (as our waiter told us--I forgot his name but he was lovely). We stayed in the "Meeting room" and enjoyed a glass of wine in front of the fire at night. There was also a full breakfast served the next morning in another area of the inn, this room bright and sunny. Fresh-squeezed juice and a newly baked popover was another treat. This is a place I would recommend not just for the history and beautiful views but especially because the staff was polite and helpful but unobtrusive. Pros: thoughtful staff, horseback riding nearby, excellent dinner (especially chedar cheese soup) Cons: plumbing is original and takes some time to warm up more

I love this place!! I felt like I took a step back in time the moment I arrived. Every detail was thought of from the well appointed room to the flaky morning croissants. I will be heading back there in a few weeks with my family for a small reunion and I know that the staff will welcome us with open arms and accommodate all of our needs. The Old Drovers Inn used to be a great place to go and spend a weekend dining and exploring the country, a place full of history and welcoming faces. But it seems that all the Old Drovers people do nowadays is go about the internet writing fake reviews of themselves. Almost two years ago, a dispute between the two owners led to both owners denying to pay unpaid, deserved wages to employees. The Old Drovers' owner, Boaz Gilad, screwed many good people over in the process of reclaiming his business. That's all he cares about: Business and stepping on the little guy to get closer to the top. Avoid Old Drovers Inn. Patronizing the business is bad for your karma. Pros: running water. more
