Planning on coming back to use our free tickets, hope we get treated better than last time. And we will probably never come back after this trip. Marvin Dady m.dady@cox.net more

Oklahoma Aquarium 11/20/2006

The Oklahoma Aquarium http://www.okaquarium.org/ was a nice place to visit while my family was passing through Oklahoma. This aquarium is located near Tulsa in Jenks, OK. From what we saw of it, it wasn't the largest aquarium I'd ever been to, but my family really enjoyed seeing the fish, seahorse, sharks, turtles and all the other marine animals. There was a huge tank of sharks that was interesting. I think the guide told us 15 sharks were currently inside the tank, but it started out with a few hundred sharks (if I remember correctly). We walked through the tank's tunnel and the outside of the tank to see different angles of the sharks. Also there was an open pool-type area where stingrays swam. At certain times I believe you can touch the stingrays (when we were there touching was off-limits). There was a turtle area where you could pay like $5 or so to feed the turtles. We didn't do this because there was only about 2 pieces of food in the very small cup, but we watched a little boy feed them. The turtles climbed over one another trying to reach for the food. This aquarium had lots to see. Pretty fun for kids or adults even to get a little lesson in fish and other marine animals. The cost for an adult is currently $13.95 and children ages 3 - 12 are $9.95. Oh, and under 3 are FREE! more

How interesting can fish be 10/5/2006

Well, apparently fish can be very interesting and a lot of fun! My family went to the Aquarium and had a great time. We had 2 children, a teenager, 3 adults, and even a Grandmother. We all had a great time and stayed for hours. Yes, it is a bit pricey but it was something everyone should do. There are some really neat things to see and touch. We also got a lot of great pictures. I have even heard that people have weddings and/or receptions there. That would be such an interesting and unique wedding. If you haven't been to the Aquarium you really should go. You won't regret it! more

What An Adventure! 7/6/2006

I am visiting family in the Tulsa area, and yesterday we visited an attraction that was new to me, but one I will be sure to visit again! The Oklahoma Aquarium is located on Aquarium Road in Jenks, Oklahoma, just South of Tulsa off Highway 75. It is impossible to miss, as it is the largest attraction in Jenks, and people come from across the state to visit this family friendly aquarium. The price of admission at the Oklahoma Aquarium is pretty high, at about thirteen dollars per adult and ten dollars per child, ages three and up. With a large family, that adds up quickly! Inside the aquarium building, one can expect to easily spend lots more, with the various vendors. Children can feed the fish, at two dollars each, a soda will cost you $1.50, and of course, there are the high priced snack bars and gift shop. Besides the prices, the Oklahoma Aquarium is an amazing adventure. Although it is pricey, I would recommend that every family visit at least once! A family could easily spend many hours wandering through the various tunnels and admiring all of the beautiful creatures on display! There are swordfish, starfish, octopi, even a wonderful room where you can walk below the swimming sharks, gazing up at a sight that few people get to see. That particular room was so amazing, my son and I just had to go through again! I was a bit dizzy, seeing the water beside and above me, but it was so worth it! Another favorite area is the petting area, where children, or adults, can touch the fish. Among the fish available to touch were starfish, and even stingrays! One cannot really grasp the concept without experiencing it firsthand! Although the Oklahoma Aquarium is not a place I could afford to visit often, it is definitely a unique, worthwhile experience! more

Great fun for the whole family 7/5/2006

We visited the Oklahoma Aquarium today in Jenks, OK. We took the (grown) kids and grandkids. I couldn't tell you which generation enjoyed it the most...and I'm not all that into fish. The exhibits were beautiful and there were all sorts of creatures that I'd never seen before. The little ones got to "pet" the starfish. There was a hallway made of glass where we had large sharks swimming beside and above us. We got to see a ninety pound catfish. The prices were rather high (about $13 for each adult and $10 for the children - even the three year old) but besides the zoo, there aren't that many places that three generations can enjoy at once. more

Here fishy fishy fishy 11/29/2005

This museum is really an aquarium and it is located in Jenks, Oklahoma, USA, which is near Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA which is located in the middle of the country just above Texas and just below Kansas. The museum is not very big, it has some cool exhibits, like you can touch some sting rays that have had there stingers removed and you can touch some sharks that don't bite for some reason, maybe they had there teeth removed? The exhibits seemed a little cruel to me but whatever. Um, its pretty fun. A little overpriced. Don't go unless you're really bored or really like fishies. more
