As a lover of Chinese Food, I must say it is not easy finding a good place to eat. Too many places use low quality meats that are too tough to chew, their battered dishes are too doughy and they use way too much sugar, salt and oil (P.F. Changs). While I was walking down Main St. in Walnut Creek I passed by this very small Chinese Restaurant that labeled themselves as Gourmet. I am always willing to try a new Chinese Restaurant and decided to give it a go. I must say I was pleasanly surprised by the food here. I have yet to try a dish that does not fall in the category of good to great. The Orange Peel Beef may be the best I've ever had. The beef is tender and flavorful while the batter that surrounds it is light and perfectly balanced. I've been back many times and must say the dishes have a certain depth of flavor that is hard to find in any restaurant. The atmosphere is a little sterile and the place is tiny. Although it could be labeled ""Hole-in-the-Wall,"" the furniture and decor is new and updated. Plus, the entire place is spotless, including the bathroom. Without question, this is one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the Bay Area. What they lack in atmosphere they more than make up in food. Can't wait to go back.
Pros: Extremely Delicious Food
Cons: Atmosphere and prices are on the high side
