Good Zoo should be called GREAT zoo! 4/27/2010

The Good Zoo has come forward leaps and bounds over the past few years. It's a wonderful surprise to find such a beautiful little zoo nestled in the park. From large snakes to zebras, lemurs, kangaroos, lorikeets, bears and otters and many more animal friends, this zoo is always a blast to go to. It has LOTS of trees providing shade on even the warmest of days and you'll often see native wildlife as well scurrying about the pathways. I highly recommend this zoo if you have never been, or haven't been to it in a few years! What an asset to the Wheeling area! more

Little gem in the area 9/23/2005

The Good Zoo is a nice little place to take the family. Although you can find bigger zoos within a few hours' drive, the Good Zoo will defintely keep the kids entertained (especially the little ones!). The zoo lacks the bigger exhibits, like aquariums, exotic animals, etc..., but they have a great petting zoo and a really fun train ride. My grandkids (2&4) love it there and we go as often as we can! more

Great Distraction for an afternoon with kids 8/19/2005

While it doesn't compare to larger zoos, the Good Zoo is a great little distraction for the little ones for an afternoon. Kids can easily spend hours wandering from exhibit to exhibit watching the animals that one normally wouldn't associate with Wheeling WV. Even the animals you would associate, the kids love being up close. Feeding the deer is always a treat for the kids, and most would be happy just staying at the barn and feeding the goats or watching the new baby donkey. It's not very justifiable to drive back and forth to Pittsburgh, Cleveland or Columbus all the time for their zoos, so having this small zoo in our 'backyard' is a nice way to spend the afternoon. more
