I went to OfficeMax in key west last Friday and saw a great computer deal bundle that was on sale. I left the store until I could chat with my husband about getting it. We decided it was a go so my husband called the store to see if he could come pick one up because I had already gone home to Big Pine key. Brandon who answered the phone said they did not have one in stock, but the deal would still be available the following week when the truck arrived on Tuesday between 1:30-2pm. He took down my name and phone number and said they would call me when they arrived and they would hold it for me the day it came in. Fast forward to Tuesday. My husband called the store at 8 AM to just make sure the truck was running on time and again was told it would be there between 1:30 and 2 pm. At 2pm, I went to the store and a woman asked if she could help me. I said ""Yes. I am here to pick up one of these computers. You have one on hold with my name on it."" She abruptly said ""We only got two in and they both sold earlier this morning."" I said ""But the truck didn't come in until today. My husband called at 8 AM this morning and they told him the truck would be here between 1:30-2. They were holding one for me."" She again cut me off and said ""No. That is not our policy. We can only hold something for you for the day it comes in."" So again, I say ""They WERE holding it for me! We called Friday AND we called at 8 AM this morning!"" She then said ""Who did you speak to?"" I got my husband on the phone and he said Brandon and she cut me off and said ""Well his last day was last night. Moving forward, what do you want us to do?"" So I asked when more would be in. She said ""Well maybe on Friday. If we get one we can put your name on it and hold it for you but we don't know if there will be any on the truck."" Okay, so now in my head, I am not going to fall for this trick again! She then tried to sell me an HP computer that I didn't want and eventually took my phone number down and wrote it on a sale ad she had in her hand which made me feel like she'd throw it in the garbage after I left. Seeing I wouldn't get ANY help from this abrupt person (Evy, Etsy? She claimed to be a customer service manager. WORST customer service I have ever had!) I took matters in to my own hands. I called the Key Largo store and was put on the Phone with Peter. He too was hesitant on holding something for me and I offered to pay for it over the phone and explained I was en route driving there at that moment and just needed the time to drive there. He said ok and when we arrived, he met up with us and seemed excited about my purchase and had everything waiting for me and was absolutely AMAZING! I cannot say enough good about how wonderful he was and he is definitely what customer service is about! We were so happy about him that we bought a printer too! And some ear phones! I wanted to buy everything in that store after talking to him! From now on, I will drive 69 miles one way to do business with Peter over driving 25 miles to deal with a bitter worker who made me feel like it was MY fault that I wasn't able to buy something from them! To make matters worse, She called me and left a message at 8:15 PM saying that they got a computer by mail for me and she would only hold it in the store until they close that night. She knows I live in Big Pine which is a 45 minute drive and she left the message at 8:15 PM! No thank you! I won't be buying anything from that location again!! (I am a business owner and have bought most of my supplies there since 1999! 2 lap tops and 3 printers, software, flash drives, SD cards, envelopes, paper etc. No more due to that bitter mean woman!) more
