Ocean Sushi

I've eaten at this restaurant before and know that the food is pretty decent, so I'm not going to rate them too too low. The delivery service was awful the other day though. My meal was 50 minutes late, everything that was supposed to be hot was cold and everything supposed to be cold was lukewarm. Worst of all, the delivery girl didn't say a word as she thrust the food into my hands and rushed off. I assume she was late for a bunch of other deliveries, but a "hello, really sorry I'm late" would have been preferable to stony silence. I'll give these guys another shot sometime, since they're the only place that delivers sushi in the area. Hopefully they'll have the kinks in their delivery service worked out by then! more

We've eaten a lot of sushi over the years but there always seemed to be something missing. Who knew that the missing factor involved a knock at our door?! Ocean Sushi has been our "go to" sushi spot since we discovered their luscious presence. The Nigiri is fresh, sweet and generously sliced and we have yet to find a roll that wasn't scrumptious. Two words: Spicy Bomb? If you haven't tried it, have one delivered or go pick one up. NOW! Run, don't walk to your nearest phone or car and do yourself a favor. Once you've have the pleasure of their sweet & spicy lusciousness, your life will never be the same. (okay, I may exaggerate a bit but you get the gist) They're really, really good! The volcano roll is equally delightful. Oh, did I mention they come to you with their bad sushi selves? "Knock, knock... who's there... nom nom nom!" Just order sit back and wait for the delicious to come to you. Great food, reasonable prices and always on time. Win, win! more

I will say right off the bat, that I am SUPER spoiled when it comes to sushi. I grew up in a coastal town with it's own harbor just south of San Francisco. So, I've searching since I moved here to find something comparable to where I used to go. I won't say they are the best sushi I've ever had, but Ocean Sushi is certainly the best I've found in the LA area. Their delivery driver is super nice and they are always on time, usually earlier than what the site says (I think helps that we're only a few blocks away). They also give you a TON of food for the price. We usually get the Special Combo (20 pieces total: 4 pieces of assorted nigiri, 4 pieces of Tekka Maki, 4 cucumber rolls, and 8 California Rolls) for $11.99, 8 Piece Sashimi for $8.99, and 12 Piece Tuna Roll for $5.99. It's more than enough to satisfy the two of us. more
