We always have a great time when we come out this way and hang out, Justin and I are around the same age so we tend to go after the same type of girls. We came to eat once and both ran into this girl and two different points. It was pretty funny. But this place is pretty cool and the staff are funny too! more

This was my first trip to South Beach and I do not think I will ever go back. I liked that everything was really close and within walking distance, but everything looked dirty and old (and I am from Baltimore so that is saying something). The nightlife was not what I expected. Everyone is snooty and rude. If you are wearing jeans and you are a girl you should just hang it up and go home. You have to be half dressed and in very high heels. I am 24 so I am not some old lady and I was appalled. The best way to explain it would be if Sodom and Gomorra was a modern day place, this would be it. First trip ever to Miami/South Beach from WI. Enjoyed the sunset in South Pointe Park, and strolling Ocean Drive after dark on the east side of the street--agawk at the cool neon! Versaci's huge old place seems creepy at 1102 Ocean Dr. Wet Willie's seems like a wild nightclub, but we don't drink. Best meal of the week (spent $500 on just food alone that week) was the paella at Primetime at the Waldorf Towers at 8th & Ocean. Great view from the porch table above the sidewalk. Excellent lobster, great meal value for $59. Sergio the waiter was fun/cocky at Les 2Fontaines--dessert there so-so. Found the Art Deco Preservation Society Museum interesting, but glad we got out of the area just as the spring breakers were arriving, making it bummer-to-bumper traffic for blocks! For those of us who were forced to watch the same black and white telly as our parents, especially Dad...we have seen visuals of cowpokes trying to herd cows-Ocean Drive mimics this visual scene Few folk unless they are into it for the ""job"" or because they are on an A list for freebies or have money to burn or are real voyeurs want to be squeezed onto 20 urban blocks on a weekend. It is a great backdrop to the Magazine of the same name....but (Yawn) give me the urban core...where if you know how to chill...you can change continents every 30 minutes without the traffic and paying to the hilt for more of the same. Granted everyone should experience it once...Good in the day for families...good for people watching...for a weekend. Better value off the beaten track. Having Been here for Four Months, ive been to Collins And Washington, many a times, but Ocean Drive is an experience not to be forgotten. Its uptempo and if you odont have the money to go out just walk around and its great. The Diversity of this place is unlike any in the world, The people are all beautiful, and the weather is even better, so bring lots of cash and an open mind, your sure to have a blast.
