Editorial review from Citysearch 11/5/2013

I am a fairly new patient with them- (6th baby, 1st time going to Ladies First) and was dropped from their practice. I received a letter on October 30th dated the 24th, stating that they'd cover me in emergency cases only through the 24th of November. The ONLY reason this could possibly be is because I dared question why it took so long for appointments. \r \r I had an appointment around the 17th, and after 30 minutes of not being called back, I went to the front desk and stated the time my appointment was. The blond (didn't get her name) replied ""and? there's someone ahead of you, then you'll be called back."" So because I had other appointments scheduled that day, I rescheduled my appointment and left. I came back the next scheduled appointment day and they were again 30 minutes late.\r \r When finally called back, I put it to Dr. Sharon Bush like this: ""If I were your employee, and I was consistently 30+ minutes late, how fast would I be fired? After all, you charge me a no-show fee after 15 minutes of not showing up; it's on your wall"" After giving me attitude and telling me that I need to be patient- (after having to reschedule my appointment 3 days before because they can't budget time properly!) I was dropped.\r \r Now, after having left message after message for their administrators, no one will get back to me. I'm truthfully thinking of hiring a lawyer and filing a discrimination lawsuit as they had no cause to drop me from their practice.\r \r The ONLY reason I chose them was because they are an all-woman practice and I felt more comfortable there. I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere. more

They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was not friendly at all, and I felt worse when I left. The office was easy enough to find. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. Voss has a horrible bed side manner. i had an abdominal hysterectomy with an extra surgeon cutting away adhesions in order for her to get to my ovaries. Which caused my intestines to swell some and had added discomfort with recovery. Voss gave me 3 days of pain meds. The first and only time i asked for more pain meds i was accused of ""asking for narcotics"". I only needed 3 more days of pain meds. That's where her and her nurses paranoia crossed over into inadequate pain management. And to boot I'm still getting bills for it even though my insurance Tri-Care paid it and has sent numerous times proof that it was paid. I had my surgery in 2007. That's how bad her accountant is. Crazy Bad Dr. and staff. I highly recommend finding a different clinic. more

Best Ob-Gyn a girl could have! 12/22/2008

I got pregnant and a friend recommended Dr. Vauss and Torrence. As a black female, I wanted a black doctor who understood my cultural issues (African American specific stuff- perms, sickle cell, etc) so I have Dr. Torrence. She is so patient, kind, has a sense of humor, checks and double checks everything, etc. She is just marvelous. She is worth my commute and I am avoiding a move to have her deliver my little one come June '09. I highly recommend her, her partner, and their team. They are nice women that really take care of the patients. No bones about it- they are #1!!!!! Pros: Nice, easy to get appt, no rush. Dr. T takes patients with insurance Cons: Sometimes backed up and I think Dr. T only takes insurance not Medicaid more
