There are some excellent educators at Oakwood. Teachers that I recommend highly would be Ms. Maritza, Ms. Paradise, and Ms. Debbye. There are other teachers at Oakwood who are good, and some that are truly terrible. Over the years they have done a fair job weeding out the less desirable teachers, and at this point I think the staff is overall acceptable. more

I have worked for Oakwood schools for 4 years now and can tell you this is a safe place for your child to learn and grow! I noticed some of the comments about television and would like to say that our facilities are open from 6-6 & before your child's teacher comes or after they leave to accommodate our 12:1 ratio that we are proud to offer we place the children into groups for a movie. It is never more than an hour. Occasionally it is educational, but the children are in an educational environment all day. We are proud to offer both education and fun! Stop by in the middle of the day & you will find them intently working! I went to the Oakwood schools since I was 2 years old and am now a nursing student at a private university. Invest in your children. Choose private schooling! more

I have two boys enrolled in this school and they have been there for five years. I must say that comparing to a public school, Oakwood Academy has great academics but also a loving environment. As a parent, i truly appreciate the family atmosphere where everyone knows everyone. Also, i would like to commend the staff for providing the extra security for students. There's nothing I would change about this program. I love it and my kids do too! more

What a great value! In these tough times, I've debated whether or not to take my child out of Oakwood Academy to save money. After researching public schools and after school programs, this is the best way to go! My child loves going to school, the teachers are personable, they are open from 6 to 6 and they even have extra curricular lessons. What a packed day! All for about 150 a week, give or take. I wish I had more friends to tell. more

My wife and I enrolled my daughter at Oakwood Academy's Pre-k program 8 months ago. We are so INCREDIBLY HAPPY. All of the teachers are fully engaged, and you can tell they ALL care about the well being and development of my daughter! The staff and Director are phenomenal. The director of the school sets the tone. She hires amazing teachers who go above and beyond our expectations. I've had the pleasure of getting to know a lot of them. I have nothing but nice compliments to say. My wife and I would like extend our thanks to all the staff of Oakwood Academy for doing an awesome job!! more

While here my daughter took part in activities such as bible club, piano lessons, karate lessons, cooking, and dance. She also enjoyed trips like going to Catalina Island as well as going to camp where she learned to care for and ride a horse. more

My daughter was at OA from Kindergarden until 4th grade. I can truly say I could not imagine having her at any other school. During our time there Oakwood's teachers and administration became like a family to us.\r Ms Jennifer always took the time to not only let me know how my child was doing, but if there was room for concern with my child she always let me know and followed up. She aways showed genuine care not only for my child, but for all if the children. This attitude was seen in all of the teachers. They always worked as a team with care to better the children. more

In my time here my one complaint is the parking. Besides that I love the school' administration as well as the teachers and I appreciate their dedication to the children.\r \r Two things that let me know OA was the place for us are\r 1. How my child still asks to visit OA whenever we are in town.\r 2. How now that I have had my second child I wish we were still in CA so that I could bring him to OA. more

The teachers are very knowledgeable and flexible with my son's needs. Anytime I have questions, Ms. Jennifer is so helpful and goes out of her way to accommodate me. The class sizes are small and I love that every teacher and staff person knows my son's name. I wish we could stay here until High School, we will be so sad to leave. more

My child transferred to Oakwood Academy Elementary after completing the Jumpstart PreK program at their sister school, Creative Day Academy in Bellflower. My son loves coming to school. Every morning, we are greeted by a friendly staff member, that make us feel so welcome. more

Oakwood Academy offers a full array of programs to stimulate and motivate learning skills. My two children love getting up in the morning to attend their pre-school and Kindergarten classes. I would highly recommend this school for any working parent that needs quality day care, pre-school and kindergarten curriculum. more

My daughter attended Oakwood Preschool and Oakwood Academy. She graduated last year. Having had the opportunity to experience the 'real' world outside of Oakwood, I cannot say enough how wonderful this school is. It is truly a gem. The education is accelerated, the hours are great for working parents and the tuition is minimal for all you receive more

My son has been in the Oakwood schools since he was three and we're very delighted with his academic progress, he is now five and is reading and writing and has also been taking piano ever since.. we really love this school and would highly recommend it. The only suggestion we would like to make is to improve the infrastructure of the building, it is outdated and too small, the classrooms are too cramped together; the children don't have too much individual or small group space to work inside the classroom, it would be nice for them to have bigger classrooms where they could have a 'media center' a 'reading center', etc. that would allow more space and creativity. more

On the first visit to both Oakwood Academy, and Oakwood Academy Preschool I was impressed by the work the students were doing and how well behaved they were. So far so good. When selecting a preschool that was right for us it was important that we found a school that we felt could enhance our sons social skills and fundamental learning and we found just that at Oak wood. They have a fun curriculum that engages the children while learning. My son is excited to go to school every morning ,he looks forward to playing with his friends, and he shares all the fun things that he learned at school each day. Oak wood has been a great choice for our family, we love it! more
