Oaks Inn

My husband and I have had difficulty in making a reservation and being promptly seated at the Oaks Inn in Endicott. Another party at the neighboring table (where we were eventually seated) told us of the times they have been told the same story, not only late reservation times but when they arrive they still must wait to be seated for up to 30 minutes. In fact when another party arrived, the maitre d' Paul told them to wait at the bar, even though he pointed out the set up table their party would be seated at was ready. Paul could have seated them and taken their drink order. Instead Paul sat at the bar drinking his ""orange juice"" and ignored the fact he could help the waitress staff with drink and appetizer orders. He directs parties to order their appetizers at the bar and eat them there. The table we were eventually was seated at was open and already set up from the time we arrived until we were seated 20-25 minutes later. We left our number with the head chef that night Jim. It is now Saturday and we have not heard from the owner. Since they have gotten into the group to help the businesses on oak hill it seems they have become too cocky or diinterested in their clientele . We will not be back to this restaurant, even though it has one of the best menus in broome county. The atmosphere and the owner and staff do not appreciate our business. One day on my home (some what new to the area) I was starving and was literally driving for the first place that I saw eat. For some odd reason I found myself in Endicott and saw some people walk out of this place with dogie bags. So I parked and just then discovered one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to. I have been there so many times and have tried virtually everything and have to realize that you simply can not go wrong with any food item on the menu. Like many other reviews I agree that the veil is out of this world. To test my taste buds out, I took my entire Italian family from NYC area out to eat here. I figured if you can impress them then your doing something right. Well, to say that they enjoyed would be an under statement. A dinner to remember. If you are into great drinks... Renee is your answer to that. Renee is a young bartender there that makes the best apple martinis you can imagine. If you are interested in a fabulous meal in a small home style Italian setting Oaks Inn is your place hands down. I lived most of my life in Brooklyn and Staten Island, NY, and when I retired in 2000 and moved to the twin tiers, I thought I would never find another great Italian restaurant. Even my grandkids get tired of Pizza Hut. Geez, was I mistaken. Pros: Just about everything to do with dining is great. Cons: Difficult for handicapped persons to enter the premises. A flight of stairs leads to the restaurant. more

You can not beat Oak's Inn if you are looking for a little nicer restaurant. Everything on their menu is amazing, and they have the best veal dishes around. I bring all my friends from out of town here and they always want to go back the next time they are in town! I would reccomend calling for reservations, the place gets busy on the weekends. more
