Oakridge Apartments

If you are smart, you will NOT rent here. This place is horrendous and is the worst place I have ever lived at. Wish I could get out of my lease! There is a cockroach infestation and even after the management sprayed, they are still here. The noise is unbelievable and I have not had a good nights sleep since renting here. It is a courtyard environment and you can hear everything your neighbors are talking about and if there are children, you might as well forget about getting any peace and quiet. The walls are so thin that when people close their front doors, our windows rattle and if you live on a lower floor, you can hear people walking around upstairs and even turning in their beds at night and you can even hear people going to the bathroom. Gross! And forget about the woman that ""manages"" the apartment. She is NEVER in her office no matter what day or time you try to find her. The rent may be 'cheap', but believe me, you get what you pay for and actually the money they get for these dumps is way too much! Don't even bother trying to use the washers and dryers, because they are never available. The laundry room is supposed to open at 7am, but it never opens until 11. I have lived at Oakridge for the past 5 yrs and have always been treated with respect and professionalism by the management here. I even had the oportunity to meet the owner, Karen on a few occasions. I learned that she frequently visits the complex to check on things which I have never seen at any other apartment complex I have ever lived in. I was really happy that she remembered me after her first visit. She even took the time to ask me how things were going living here and how I felt about management/maintenance. (She even gave me a number to reach her personally if I ever had any problems.) Of course I gave them all a glowing reveiw. They're always on top of things. The most major issue I had was comming home from a 12 hr work day to find my fridge had broken. I waited until the morning to call cause lets face it, needing a refridgerator at 9:00pm when the food was allready unsaveable was no emergency. Anyways, I had a new refridgerator within the hour of my phone call. On a Saturday no less. Other little minor issues like my shower door comming off track and a few verticle blinds breaking were repaired/replaced in no time at all. My husband and I lived 9 years with our kids and 1 cat very happily at Oak ridge.The manager was so kind and helpfull she called karen(owner) and worked out payments on a pet deposit. My cats lucky day! The kids were happy. The apartment was clean smell free and well maintained.The people that lived there were working folk .NOT drug people. My kids friends would come over from grade school to high school They liked coming to visit because it was a nice environment family friendly and the manager was kind she liked people.The manager made us feel important . If we needed something fixed it was done the same day or the next. Karen was a fair person she gave all the people who lived there her home address & phone number.I had 1 complaint in 9 years,the laundry room was locked.I called Karen. In 5 minutes the laundry room was open. Karen called me back and thanked me and never told it was me.When I moved out the manager gave me a list of things I was responsible for to get my $750.00 deposit back. I did them. Hold on to your wallets people! I got $715.00 back! The owner and manager are honest how bout that. My kids made a red stain on the carpet and the only deduction was 35.00 That people is more than fair. you should have seen the stain my kids made. Don't know where to begin! Yeah for someone finally writing a post! Everything in that post is sooo true, renter beware! Management totally unprofessional, confrontational, married couple! Where in the world did the owner KAREN find these two?! Filthy dirty, trash everywhere, never can find anyone for a maintenance request, their to busy smoking it up with their neighbors, and they know the dumpster divers names that they allow to go through the residents trash! KAREN you are getting scammed, get a clue! Great for druggies and partiers, not a family friendly place to live, cheap rent but moldy walls, leakey and flooding tiolets, elecrical work is outdated and fire hazard! old crumbling cabinets that smell like cat urine! Do not rent here...they tack on charges when you move out totaling over $1500....I am filing a lawsuit...They may have cheap rent but it's because the apartments are cheap on the inside.....The manager says she will be on your side but they lie too....Please don't rent from them. Cons: They take lots of money when you move out. more
