SINGLES DANCE REVIEW\r
\r
This week I traveled to a bar called Mr B's, located on Rochester Road in the city of Rochester to review a dance put on by a singles organization called ""Plenty Of Fish"". My first concern after walking through the door was there were way to many people in attendance. I was unable to find a seat or a place to stand. People were constantly bumping into one another to jockey for position near the dance floor. Due to the large shoulder to shoulder crowd it was difficult to approach a female without being trampled by competitors. By the time you get through the mass of people to reach your contact, she has been approached several times and is gone before you get there. A different approach to the overcrowding problem was needed so I staked out a spot near the railing where many interesting females passed by. Unfortunately the music was so loud that even if you tried to meet someone you would have to shout loudly to have a conversation, even if you were only one foot away. It was truly loud enough to cause hearing damage. OSHA would have a field day writing violations.\r

CALCULATED ARROGANCE........... The main problem at this dance is the ratio of men to woman. The men outnumber the woman by at least 5 to 1. Most people know when they have the advantage and females, having excellent mental calculators, immediately recognize that point in time. As I stood there I noticed females walking quickly by me. They showed about as much interest in me as they would show to dirt on the carpet. It was very discouraging to learn that these woman considered my social status equivalent to that of an an empty beer bottle, many of which were strewn around various table tops.\r

THE 11PM BLUES..............Standing there watching the crowd I noticed men adding the situation up in their heads and after 11PM they began to leave, understanding their chances to make a new contact were nearly zero. I remained determined to hang in there until the end.\r

CLICK GROUPS.............Every dance has them. Some have more than others and this group was no different. I personally despise, keyword; “Clicks” where people form groups of friends. These “Click” groups are happy dancing with, and talking to each-other and are not receptive to making new contacts. That type behavior is counterproductive to the idea of attending a singles dance and meeting new people.\r

About midnight I noticed six to eight females who were totally happy dancing with one another leaving several men around the dance floor dumbfounded, shaking their heads. There were a few females sitting at tables close to the dance floor who raised their hands and clapped in approval to the music the click was dancing to. I am left with the sincere wish that someday the clicks will hold their own “Click Dance” somewhere else so all the single guys like myself could stop wasting time hoping to meet them.\r

ADVICE TO THE MASSES...........I was unable to get even one dance or meet anyone. My Rolex watch granted mercy by showing me the time was a little past midnight. I was finally forced to admit defeat and give up the quest. I totally wasted my time getting cleaned up to drive across town for this dance. If you find yourself alone on a Saturday night and this is the only dance available, I have a better option for you. Make a large bowl of buttered popcorn, sit yourself down on the couch with your remote control, kick back, relax, and watch the tube. The weekend will pass and better opportunities will present themselves.\r

I now know why this group calls themselves “ Plenty Of Fish “. You have to be dumb as a dead carp to attend this dance more than once.
