Unless you're looking for a loud sports bar atmosphere you'll want to avoid this place. Otherwise you'll get average but expensive thin crust pizza served by an apathetic staff.

Favorite Pizza Place In Los Angeles 6/22/2010

I randomly walked into this joint on La Cienega with a few friends. It seems like one of the owner/brothers always there. They also seemed to know most of the customers. I understood why the next time I came in. He remembered me, my friends and what we had the last time we were in. That would have been enough for me, but luckily the pizza is the best I have had since Italy. It is thin and made out of the wood-burning oven. Not overwhelming, but how pizza is should be. I cannot say enough about how much these guys seem to care about the success of the place, and making everyone seem like regulars. Pros: Great Staff, Great Pizza and Great Drink Prices Cons: The only con is Sherman Oaks is not open yet. more

Great pizza 4/21/2010

The pizza here is top notch and the menu diverse. However, when it takes 30 minutes to get a class of wine you have to take the good with the bad. It's worth it if you arrive early and aren't in a rush. Pros: pizza Cons: service. inaccurate happy hour listing more

TERRIBLE SERVICE 12/30/2009

Do not go here for anything but the pizza. The customer service at this place is PATHETIC. The owner is an ass and looks grungy and like he doesnt shower, and the staff thinks they are just ""too cool"" to help customers out. Very tacky. Pros: The pizza Cons: The lack of service, and pathetic beer selection more

the best Pizza in the USA 10/11/2009

Truly superior pizza, crunchy thin crust, the best toppings, cooked perfectly and priced right. The best Pizza I have ever tasted. Pros: Pizza Cons: Not much more

Dumbest hostess in Los Angeles 5/8/2009

I know this is LA, but what the heck kind of hostess turns away customers in an empty restaurant? 40 minutes before tonight's Laker game, my girlfriend and I went into the restaurant to grab a pie. We and the couple before us were turned away by this half retarded hostess because ""I'm not good at this, but people have reservations at 7:00 - the Laker's are playing."" Does anyone in this town arrive on time? Is this girl serious? Seriously, if you are going to be that dumb, at least be good looking. Big thumbs down. Try Cube on La Brea or Mozza if you want good pie and good service. Pros: Convenient location Cons: Inept staff, retarded hostess, OK food more

BEST pizza in L.A.!!! 1/10/2009

MUST try Stonefire, in fact, why go anywhere else!!! Really - the best deal is to go during their happy hour as all pizza's are half off. They are super good. Really thin, crispy crust. more

Excellent Happy Hour! 11/2/2008

Stone Fire Pizza has a terrific happy hour 7 days a week (featuring 1/2 price pizza and beer/wine - plus, on week days from 4-7, the appetizers are also 1/2 price). Just don't expect 'New York style pizza' because these guys are serving up a more eclectic style ... But the food is good and the prices can't be beat. Plus it's just a fun spot to chill w/ friends (with quite a few vegetarian options for all you non-carnivores) Pros: Excellent happy hour! ... Good food ... Ice cold draft beer ... Relatively easy parking ... Cons: If you're NOT a sport's fan, you might not dig the multiple TV's cranking sports shows more

The World's Worst Customer Service 6/13/2008

Last night I was entertaining guests from Florida, and after a long day of sightseeing I took them to Stone Fire Pizza for dinner. I figured it'd be the perfect spot since I heard the food was good and we were dressed casually. Pros: Large variety of alcoholic drinks Cons: Awful service, long valet line to park, expensive mediocre pizza more

So many options! Great Pizza 1/27/2008

I went with some friends and we just made it in time to put our orders in for happy hour. We got three different pizza's and they were all great. I tried the whole wheat crust and really liked it. It was really cheap, in a nice atmosphere and the food was great. I will definitely be back. Pros: pizza's and happy hour more

Half Priced Pizza and Appetizers During Happy Hour! 1/15/2008

This place would be a bit pricey for pizza in general, but during happy hour, it's a great steal. And, they have incredible toppings. They give you quite a bit of flexibility in adding and removing items from the pizzas. I had a great goat cheese, tomato, pesto, pepper sausage, and mozzarella pizza (normally $15, but half price during happy hour). They have all sorts of incredible toppings and they pair them together well. I'm not generally a thin crust fan, but the crispy thin crust and healthy toppings mean I don't have to feel so guilty about eating pizza. Pros: Happy Hour, Atmosphere Cons: Costly when it's not happy hour more

Great deal for Happy Hour 1/2/2008

Went for pizza and beers during Happy hour, when prices are DRASTICALLY discounted. Service was friendly, but not attentive. Pros: Great Happy Hour, Nice Dining Room. Nice Bar Cons: Slow Service, expensive valet more

Best Pizza & Happy Hour In The City Hands Down 11/28/2007

The pizzas are awesome here. Started out with the chicken skewers and the buffalo chicken calzones. Both were great. We then ordered the prosciutto and arugala pizza, a BBQ chicken pizza and a mushroom pizza. All the pizzas were delicious. They have good draft beer and we had a kick @ss rocky road pizza for dessert. The best part of the meal was that everything was half off because of happy hour. Highly recommend. The service was good too! Pros: Food & Service Cons: Had to wait ten minutes for my car more

Best thin crust pizza and Happy Hour prices! 11/17/2007

The stone fire pizza is some of the best pizza I have ever eaten (and I am from the East Coast!) Traditional and non traditional toppings keep the menu interesting without being overwhelming. SO far the Wild Mushroom Pizza and the Vegetarian are my favorites. Happy Hour is every day 4-7pm plus all day on the weekends and included half price on drinks and pizza. Seriously an entire stone fired pizza for only $7! You can't find that anywhere else in LA. The service has been great and we have been there at least 5 times now. They have several flat screen TVs around the restaurant and bar so you will never miss a game (if that is your thing). And since there are sports, there are MEN! IF you and your Girls want to meet some guys, you should check this place out;-) Pros: Food, Prices, Service more

Average Pizza from a place that thinks too high of itself 11/9/2007

I have nothing to complain about when it comes to the food. The pizzas were tasty, but nothing special. My problem with this place is that it thinks it's something special. Pros: It can be hard to find good pizza and good beer together in this town Cons: mismanaged, mediocre service, think's it's something special. more

LOUD 10/20/2007

At Stonefire Pizza, you'll get great happy hour prices, great food and a really nice, efficient staff. Just go alone because you won't be able to converse with a guest because their rock & roll music is extremely loud. I took my family and my mother and had to scream at them because they were blasting AC/DC. I'll go back (with earplugs) because it seems that most restaurants in L.A. play music so loud, you feel as if they're trying to please themselves rather than their guests. Pros: Great food, prices, staff Cons: Very loud music more

Great Deep Dish Style Pizza 7/11/2007

Love the deep dish at this place. Took my friend, who was born and raised in Chicago, and she said it was very comparable to the original Chi Town deep dish. Plus the waitresses are stunning. more

upscale casual yummy-ness 6/6/2007

I've never written one of thest things before, but I always find them helpful--and I'm inspired enough to tell you that Stone Fire lived up to the pizza hype. You know that feeling when you're in NYC and you just casually pick up a slice from Wherever and it's Fantastic? Well, I just got back from NYC, and even with that memory lingering on my taste buds, Stone Fire may be one of my new fave LA spots. It has enough ambience for a date or a get together, but is not stressfully trendy , has a menu for everyone, sweet and attentive servers with no attitude, and pizza that rocks. I lived in Chicago for a few years and the Chicago deep dish is bursting with fresh, plummy tomatoes--my waiter bet me that I couldn't eat the whole thing--and he was right--I barely slogged through two pieces--so to top it off, this place is a bargin! Pros: Pizza, ambience, service, location Cons: Valet is pricey more

Fun Happy Hour 4/12/2007

Stopped by Stone Fire Pizza last week on La Cienega for Happy Hour. It was great with Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio and the pizza was half priced, too. We had a pepperoni thin crust pizza and a Greek Salad and completely cleaned our plates. Super nice bartender, too. Pros: half priced pizza for Happy Hour Cons: no delivery...yet more

Great service and food!! 3/4/2007

My fiancee had his birthday party here. We had a sweet, wonderful and attentive waitress who made sure that everyone had drinks, food and fun. The managers were welcoming, accommodating and went out of their way to ensure that our party had enough room on a Saturday night. The menu is is fun and has enough options for every kind of diner. The ambiance is cozy and spacious at the same time and the prices are reasonable and well worth the experience. Pros: Good food, great service and a lot of fun more
