Oak Lodge At Bricksome

My mother and I have been doing extensive research on the numerous sties available for weddings and receptions in Baton Rouge for the past several months. After hours of careful considerations and several phone calls, we narrowed our search to three possibilities and set up appointments to visit this past weekend. In all honesty, Oak Lodge was our outside consideration. Mom had her heart set on the location that we were to see last and I had mine set on the one that we were to see second. Oak Lodge was our first appointment. In fact, the only reason that I kept the appointment was that when I called, I was able to hear an enthusiastic voices on the phone that seemed to be sincerely interested in having me come in to look around. \r \r As we climbed in the car after leaving our last appointment my mother and I both immediately agreed that we needed no further time to decide…nothing could top Oak Lodge. Here’s why…\r \r Oak Lodge was the most elegant facility. It is best suited to handle both a wedding and reception with no long awkward room turnover time at a very reasonable price. No other facility with which I spoke or that I visited offered to tailor anything to my day. What I saw was what I got unless I wanted to pay for outside professionals to come in and change things.\r \r However, all these things aside, our biggest selling point…Dona and all the other staff. From the moment we walked in we were attended to and made to feel important (as was everyone who walked through the door). We never felt as if we were one of many or that whether or not we booked our event with Oak Lodge was of little importance. (I was shocked with the apathy at other locations!)\r \r The excitement, the professionalism, and the attention to individual detail are all the qualities for which I was looking and I am thrilled with my decision. I know that you probably receive letters like this all the time, but the more you get, the better it looks! Dona, I must say, based on my other trips to Oak Lodge, you really outdid yourself. Everyone is still raving about the overall settings and especially the food. Everything that you all did to make our night wonderful and memorable was certainly appreciated! Just wanted to say thanks so much for a wonderful banquet. This is the 4th consecutive year that we've had our high school tennis banquet at Oak Lodge and each year it's been a great experience. The reception center is beautiful with the fresh flowers on each table. The atmosphere is just so pleasant. The food is always delicious. The service is excellent. Your attention to detail makes hosting an event at Oak Lodge so easy. I love the fact that I just have to show up and you and your staff have done the rest!\r \r Before I became coach of the tennis team, there was no formal banquet, but rather a get-together in the school cafeteria. The first year we came to Oak Lodge, the kids complained because they were going to have to ""dress up"" and eat ""fancy"" food instead of wearing tennis clothes and eating pizza! Of course, the parents were thrilled with our ""fancy"" banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each year, the kids harass me about the banquet, so this year, I decided to let them vote - Oak Lodge or a casual get-together. Well, when given the choice, the overwhelming majority voted for a nice banquet at Oak Lodge! I was so excited because the banquet is always one of my favorite parts of the tennis season.\r \r Thank you, again, for helping the PBS tennis teams make memories to cherish for a lifetime. more

I had knowledge of the awesomeness of Oak Lodge because you did my sister's reception, and choosing Oak Lodge for my wedding and reception was one of the best decisions I ever made. The months of prep were made pretty much stress-free because you took care of all the details--all I had to worry about was the cake, bouquets, and, of course, the dress. Though there were many different coordinators I worked with over the months before my wedding date, each was professional, reassuring, and made me feel confident my dream would be fulfilled, as it most definitely was! \r \r The DJ group you recommended was amazing, the food was incredible-everyone made sure they came up to me to say how wonderful the food was. People were impressed by the efficient way the room was transformed from a wedding into a reception. Every one of my guests had a wonderful time and continue to tell me when i see them how perfect my wedding was. That gave me such a sense of pride that I had to make sure you knew the impact your hard work had on my husband and me. I can look at my wedding album and do nothing but smile, and that was all thanks to you. And best of all, there were no bridezilla moments to be had! Oak Lodge has served as an excellent host for our monthly trade association meetings for the past several years. The atmosphere, food and service has consistantly been terrific over the years. I have attended at least two weddings, several football viewing parties, an anniversary party and also attended a large offsite party which they catered. I would not hesitate to recommend Oak Lodge for any type reception/function/catering event. more

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception here. First, let me just say that two weeks before our big day we were all over the place and nothing was really set in stone as to how things were going to play out and if we were going to have a great reception at our previous venue. Through a reference we heard of Oak Lodge and decided to give it a shot! It was the best experience I could ever ask for! From the owner who took us in two weeks (most venues don't allow this) and pulled it off amazingly, to the wonderful staff that treated our guest so wonderful.. I couldn't have picked a better place for my event! From the first time I talked the owner and each time after I was treated as if I was the only bride she was dealing with and that made me feel so special because this was so important to me and she actually cared. Overall, from the food to the service to the venue itself I wouldn't change a thing and if I could do it all over again Oak Lodge would always be my choice. Oak Lodge was wonderful to work with..I planned my wedding fast..on 3 weeks notice and they weren't the first place I looked. After 2 hard, stressful days of calling and setting appointments I ended up going over and the place sold itself! Beautiful..that is what it is..and they were so wonderful to work with. Although my wedding and reception were small by most standards (planned on 80) all of my guests (had 76 show up) had a wonderful time. My mom is still getting calls from relatives that the food was really rich and good. Bryan and I ate on the way to the airport and really were glad to have that huge bag they made for us..they even put fresh rose petals and chocolate dipped strawberries in a container with a nice thank you note. I will always remember my outdoor wedding by candlelight at Oak Lodge! more

Oak Lodge was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect place for a fall wedding. You had many choices for a menu. I ended up picking the perfect combination and people are still raving about how good the food was. The food is also unlimited, literally. We had so much food afterwards we had to give the majority of it away! They decorate for you according to your color scheme so that was very nice. Overall it was a wonderful experience. more

I could not have been happier! Josh and I looked everywhere for exactly what we wanted and for a reasonable price. When we met with Oak Lodge they were incrediably nice and open to everything we needed and wanted. We only had the reception and had the ceremony at my church. The food was amazing! And nothing short of it. My family and friends are still talking about it 4 months later. I sadly became sick at my reception and the second the coordinator found out she was at my side to see if i needed anything including medicine. (Luckily, I wasn't sick long and was able to get back to fun! ) The decorations were also beautiful. The flowers for the centerpeices fit perfectly with everything! And the plates that were fixed for both Josh and I hit the spot when we got back to the hotel. We had left over pasta that was sent home to my parents, along with the rest of the left overs. Some of bridal party went over to my parents the next day and enjoyed more food. And we had so much pasta some was placed in the freezer. Even reheated a month later.... the food was awesome! more

We had our reception here at Oak Lodge, and I can't say enough about the helpful staff. Even though the girl we initially booked with no longer worked there at the time of our wedding, we had about three contact people who took over and did a spectacular job.\r \r I had very specific ideas for the decor of the reception, and brought in about 10 boxes of decor the week before the wedding. Oak Lodge set up all of my decorations, including chair ties (which did add $100 to the bill).\r \r During the wedding itself, they were very attentive, made sure we got food and drinks, and kept the reception flowing smoothly. After the wedding, they picked up and boxed up everything we had brought for decorations, and my mom got to pick it up a few days later! They could not have made things any easier on my family, and I am so grateful for that!\r \r We were very pleased, and highly recommend them. more

Oak Lodge was one of my FAVORITE vendors! They were always professional and EVERYTHING turned out PERFECTLY! The owners are amazing! They help out in every way. I felt that our money was well spent here. more

We had our reception at Oak Lodge in the Reception Center room for 115 people. All in all our total experience with the Oak Lodge was absolutely fantastic.\r THE ROOM: The room is beautiful with lots of wood and brick that gave it a very warm, inviting feeling. The set up works great. They have a stand alone dance floor in the middle that is the perfect size. I think this made everyone comfortable and we did not have to encourage anyone to dance... they were all out there before we were! This room is great if you want a more relaxed, warm environment, but still want the very nice looking reception.\r THE FOOD: The food was AMAZING! And they have so much of it! I got so many compliments on the food and they give you tons of leftovers that my friends and family ate for the whole week after.\r THE STAFF: I cannot say enough about the staff at the Oak Lodge. They are so quick to respond to you and always friendly and professional. Everyone has such a helpful and great personality. Our event coordinator met with us several times for as long as we needed to make sure that we had all the details worked out. And if we didn't think of all the little details, they did. They take care of literally everything for you. Very easy to work with. more

Oak Lodge is a full service catered reception hall. This hall is all wood on the interior. It is absolutely beautiful. The catering is done by Diane Evans. The food is of absolute quality. The hall has a bar on the side of the room with two rooms on the side for privacy. There is a dance floor in the middle of the room. more
