This farm practices stall sharing for the purpose of convenience, which means when another horse has to come in, they kick your horse out of its stall and the other horse goes into that same stall with no change of bedding or scrubbing of feed tubs or water buckets. That also means that when your horse gets sick there, you personally need to call the vet (not Dr. Friend because Dr. Friend has inaccurate judgement) because they may very well not call any vet (while telling you they did) and then you need to INSIST THAT YOUR HORSE GETS TESTED FOR PIDGEON FEVER IF YOUR HORSE GETS SICK HERE. Although the front two pastures have grass, the back pastures are thickly choked with huge weeds with no grass visible. However the back pastures still have horses in these same weed choked pastures. The last paddock in the very far back area was exceptionally tiny with deep mud, no grass and one very lonely single horse. Other than these management problems, the horses are treated with gentleness and emotional concern (emotions not necessarily always being action). Its not that they have no concern at all for the horses, its just that they pick and choose what important thing will be dealt with and some very important things are left out. The lack of protection from disease transmission makes this farm a death trap with a history of dead horses who died from disease caught there. They need to build more stalls, use the stalls that they already have that are empty, provide education on how to avoid disease transmission while management enforces more sanitary procedures, re-seed their pastures, and be accurate with the owners about whether or not the vet was called for the owner's horse. There are no bigger lies than the lies told here.
