I went to this place the second time. The menu is bland compare to other sushi restaurant but the quality is Ok. more

I met a friend there while on my trip to the metro. The food was delicious. My sushi experience is novice at best but the chef preparing the food asked what I liked and did not like and along with my friend we tried 5-6 various items from light yellowtail all the way to spicy crab rolls. All were exceedingly delicious. Having traveled for a living since 1980 very few restaurants still overly impress me but this was great. The owners wife introduced herself and the remainder of the staff made sure our wine glass was full and we had fresh items to eat as the evening progressed. A great evening and its obvious by how full it was towards the end that others know about it as well. I love Japanese food and make it a point to try out different restaurants when I travel but O-sho has the best sushi AND Japanese cuisine by far! The service is quick for the bustling warm atmosphere and the hostess is especially welcoming. With a good selection of imported Japanese beers and the freshest fish in town (never smells fishy) I have to say I love the place. The beef teriyaki is amazingly sweet and tender and the meal is a great value with a ton of sides. I definitely would recommend this south bay treasure to anyone! I have been going to O-Sho for at least 12 years. The food and service has become pretty sloppy. Last night my wife and I got our meals with at least 10 minutes separation. The restraunt was not very busy. My Sushi was made with very warm rice and was super sloppy. It was piles of rice and fish with a band of nori that didn't make it around the rice. The Tempura was very greasy and not hot. The chicken was full of gristle and not fully cooked. Our waitress had very dirty fingernails that I noticed because she carried my soup with her fingers in the bowls of soup. more

We've been going to O-sho for lunch for many years. They have one of the best valued lunch specials in the area! For under $7, you get miso, salad, 2 gyoza, rice, chicken teriyaki, and tempura! For under $7!! Sodas are ""by-the-can"" so you're better off sticking with water or iced tea. Sushi there is good, but not particularly remarkable or inexpensive. Tables tend to be small, so this is not an ideal spot for a large group. Keep it to 4 or fewer and you'll be quite pleased. This place has wonderful traditional Japanese food, served quickly and is delicious! My friend ordered an authentic Japanese dish that wasn't on the menu, and they prepared it perfectly! Their lunch specials are a perfect size and reasonably priced. It does get crowded during the lunch hour, but it's definitely worth it! This place is great. All of our sushi was fresh and delicious. Their spicy tuna is unique and incredibly good. Service was a little frantic, sitting at the bar is a good idea as the chefs are attentive and helpful. Can be packed on weeknights, especially on weekends. more
