Today is Febuary 22nd, 2008. We took Snuggz (actually Lady Snuggle Muffins, our 17 month old tan/black female retriever/Shepperd mix) in to be spayed. We've been using O'Conner Road Animal Hospital since 1998 or so, and have always been treated very well - nothing like the negative review I saw here. In fact, Dr. Brown and Dr. Quirk are just very good dog psychologists, in addition to being very caring and skilled vets! They've been great at understanding and communicating with dogs and people alike! Today, the girl at the counter (sorry, didn't get her name) was very polite, and very knowledgeable about specific precautions, possible complications, and post-operative treatment associated with the procedure. She knew her paperwork very well, and thoroughly explained every option we had regarding today's procedure, as well as other vaccinations, treatments, and general preventative health maintenance for our Snuggz. Dr. Quirk performed the procedure and met with me after Snuggz recovered from the anesthesia. I could give more detail, but unless you've had a really good dog before and watched them while they were still a bit doped up, you would have a hard time appreciating how much Dr. Quirk really cares about animals and their care. When someone (or some dog) you love is placed in a rather vulnerable position, and someone takes great care to protect them and help them through the situation, you can't help but to bond with them. These are great doctors, and they run a great hospital!
Pros: Thorough, caring, patient, not too expensive
Cons: none, nodda, zip, zilch
