I received an advertisement that said that the tune-up special was $49.50. I called to schedule that without any issue. I met the Technician who then tried to sell me on rebuilding my door for $270.00. I said no just the tune-up and when he was done he handed me a bill for $87.00. No one ever mentioned a "service fee" on top of the "special". I felt ashamed that I had been lied to and ripped off so blatantly!
RESPONSE FROM O'Brien Garage Doors - Atlanta:
Dear Mr. Sumerlin,
Unfortunately we have to charge a service call on every job we go out to; that is a charge to offset the ever increasing cost of fuel and drive time. You informed us that you were not quoted a service call fee on the telephone. In the interest of customer satisfaction we honored two coupons to reduce the price, and then after seeing your review, we called and offered to refund 100 percent of the service call. That seemed to be agreeable to you, but then you declined to remove the review. All we can say at this point is that we're truly sorry you're upset and you can always call us to discuss any issues you may have.
