Nuthouse is right 11/22/2011

Great hours, well laid out, excellent selection -- BUT -- the manager woman is out of her mind. I have no clue why they keep this woman on there. She gave me the WORST experience I have had in a store in my life, no contest. Beyond rude -- appalling, and I do not exaggerate. I will never go back. Judging from some other reviews, other people have had the same experience. more

Price Gouged During The Hurricane 8/29/2011

Price Gouged -during Hurricane Irene they charged 45.00 for a channel lock flashlight with out Batteries. Normally 35.00 They had cases of Batteries and you were not able to buy batteries unless you bought a flashlight. Ive had problems with returns before but this took the cake. I went to return candles I purchased and they pointed to a sign that said will not accept returns purchased during the hurricane! Never heard that before. They were in perfect condition in there packaging not even opened and had the receipt. I even said i will accept a credit they said no. The white short guy has been helpful in the past. Everyone else are rude and stupid dont know there business. Go to Home Depot or better yet Lowes. I have reported them to the Dept of commerce and consumer affairs. Its been stated that the govt will be cracking down on this type of business practice and am sending a copy of this review as well. more

awful, rude staff 4/21/2008

it's handy to have a 24 hour hardware store, but the people they have on the phone are rude and dismissive, an expect you to come ad find the thing yourself. they have literally hung up in my face, and I am asking very reasonable questions. more

Very helpful and well stocked 11/3/2007

This place is really a standout for friendly, helpful service. I had to have new keys for the front door made recently, and the guy behind the counter explained that to make Medco keys would take a while and suggested I run next door for a coffee. He was very courteous and helpful, like everyone who works at this store -- a lot of people around the city seem to resent helping customers but I never get that feeling here. Plus they have 24 hour service, and a great selection of housewares on the 2nd floor and toys on the 3rd. A very useful addition to Grammercy/Muray Hill. Pros: Always open, wide variety of merchandise, very helpful staff Cons: Must climb stairs to 2nd floor. more

Wow! Now 24/7 4/20/2005

An amazing place: a hardware and housewares store that's currently open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in midtown Manhattan! Very well stocked with hardware on the first floor, housewares on the second. Very friendly and helpful staff. For a typical guy who loves browsing through hardware stores, a dangerous place indeed. Pros: Hours, Selection, Great Staff more

The BEST Hardware Store in Murray Hill 6/2/2002

For City standards, this hardware store is amazing with a wide selection of products, reasonable prices and outstanding customer service. While it's been open for a year now, I just discovered this store in April 2002 and have been visiting it every week, particularly because of its convenient hours. It's open 7 days a week from 6AM to 10PM. Other hardware stores in the area are closed by the time I get out of work. The store also sells a decent selection of housewares on the second floor. With this great addition to Murray Hill, who needs to trek out to Home Depot! Pros: Excellent Selection, Customer Service, Reasonable Prices more
