I couldn't be happier about my experience with Janette O'Sullivan and Joanne Middleton. They made the whole pregnancy a joy, even when it was rough. They give personalized, quality care that a doctor just can't provide. Erica, the office manager, welcomed me warmly at every appointment and I never waited long. I felt well cared for the entire time and enjoyed how both midwives really made the effort to get to know me. Janette was with me for the entire 13+ hours that I was in the hospital for labor, and always calmly smiling and encouraging me. She gave me the assurance and confidence that everything would be okay and I could do it. These women are passionate about helping women have the birth experience they desire. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else attending the birth of my daughter, and was admittedly sad to say 'goodbye' after the whole experience was over. I felt I had made new friends, or even gained a couple of adopted aunts in the process. These women treat you like family, encourage questions, are funny, sincere, smart... irreplaceable. If I weren't moving out of state, I would definitely return to them for future pregnancies. They'll provide you with a most memorable and special birth experience! more

We used Nurse Midwifery Associates of Brooklyn for our first baby, born in October 2008. The practice is headed by two exceptional nurse midwives - Joanne Middleton and Janette O'Sullivan - with the help of Sylvia and Rebekah who work in the office. To say we were satisfied with our experience is an understatement. With every visit my husband and I were encouraged, as a team, to ask as many questions as possible. We never felt rushed and were always provided with amazing care and helpful information.\r \r Janette delivered the baby after 36 hours of labor. Her patience was incredible and the experience was intimate...we had the baby in the hospital but it almost felt like a home birth. Janette was relaxed and was smiling most of the time...she must have been exhausted but never showed it. She really respected our choices and was present and encouraging, every step of the way. We are still in contact with her and she treats us as if we are family. I highly recommend this group. Both Joanne and Janet are highly respected professionals with terrific personalities and a great sense of humor!
