This upscale, redecorated Chinese restaurant is a cut above the rest. The food is high quality, very flavorful and friendly service is their hallmark. I am always amazed at how quickly the food is prepared. They have a full bar and it is a fun place to go for cocktails and appetizers - but we end up staying for dinner. They make the perfect martini and the margarita's are extremely popular.\r \r The staff is very accommodating and orders can be prepared to customer's specifications. The restaurant does a big take-out & home delivery business but you must come in and enjoy the feast. Treat yourself to a fresh lobster or the broiled shrimp in garlic butter (my favorites). The pork fried rice is the best I've ever had. They have comfortable booths, tables as well as a large communal table which is quite popular. The food is devine!!!! From the first smell when you walk in, till it reaches your lips!!! Amazing!!! The cost is perfect, especially for the amount of food they serve.....They are not cheap either with their liquor...decent in every aspect! The renovations could be better but, it's definately a change from previous. The bathrooms are small but lovely. I am going again tonight!!!! Pros: great food, great service.... I have literally eaten here my entire life. And ever since the renovations I love it even more. Since I'm such a regular I don't actually know what's on the menu, i get the same things over and over. You have to order the avocado salad, potato quiche (potato omelete), steak, sausage fried rice, grilled shrimp, grilled clams. I have recommended so many people to this restaurant and have been thanked every time for telling them about this awesome place. Try it out yourself!! Pros: Awesome food, what else!! We were very disappointed... steamed broccolis tasted like rubber tire, Fried rice was simply soy sauce mixed rice. We waited for the renovation to be done, but don?t bother wasting your time or $. Pricing is definitely Manhattan level, if not more. This is another bad example of Astoria Chinese food (or perhaps new Astoria style business?overcharging for everything). Wineturtles only stop for Cuban/Asian.................. simple quaility... this is the style of cooking that takes normal dishes to new highs.. the Won Ton soup in the Qt. size is a meal for two byitself brimming with Roast Pork Chicken Beef Sprouts and such. The live lobster in the tank shows value in lobster dishes and when lobster is an additional ingreadiant its real not that Shrummi Cod stuff,Wineturtle loves the Roast Pork with mushrooms and all the Cubano dishes.
