What is chiropractic? The chiropractic health care profession addresses and treats disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system, and their effects on health and well being. The most common treatment rendered is a “spinal manipulation”, often referred to as a chiropractic adjustment. The purpose is to restore joint motion, relieve nerve irritation, and muscle spasms, in areas where joint motion is limited or absent, due to injury caused by traumas such as car accidents, falls, repetitive motion stress, or improper lifting. These injuries cause inflammation and pain due to the tissue damage. Chiropractic adjustments restore motion and relieve pain and muscle tightness.
