Here's the deal- I spent 4 years of my life at Nossi and I have a Bachelor Degree in Photography and Video. I have seen people come and go at that school, and I have kept in touch with a lot of fellow alumni. Pretty much everyone I know who says that Nossi is worthless, are lazy incompetent children who want everything in life handed to them. Nossi does not guarantee you a job, and neither does any other college in the world, either. You get out of your education what you put into it. Every place has its flaws. Point in case? I'm a Nossi graduate and I have one of the most sought-after positions in the photography industry. I would not have this position if it weren't for my Bachelor degree. You can't sit around and expect things to be handed to you. We don't live in a meritocracy, but you sure as hell don't get ahead by doing nothing. more

I will try and be as unbiased as possible here, however I am a graduate from Nossi. more

Dont waste your money!! 1/6/2012

Going to Nossi was the biggest mistake of my life and I am now paying a $11,000 loan for a school that did absolutely nothing for me. The 'instructors' expect you to already know everything and dont help you or teach you. You spend 4 hours in a class either sitting at photoshop or shooting by yourself. Me nor anyone I know have a job after graduating like they promise you will when you apply. Do your research before you go to college. I do not recommend this school at all and like I said it was a huge mistake where most of my money went down the drain more

Nossi robbed me thats how they are building a new campus! 8/19/2010

Talk to someone who has graduated from this college like me and a bunch of my friends. I have friends that were in all the graduate programs and none of them can get a job. I have went to interviews many times and after the interviewer read what college I went to and asked me about the things I was trained in, I wasn't hired. Nossi told me that they could guarantee me a job when I graduate because they had really good connections. Its a secretary sending mass email letter, jobs that are from other states. WOW like I am going to move to Alaska for a job that pays 20,000 a year and less. I have called up to Nossi several times and now the secretary just gives me the run around. Its not just me but almost all Nossi graduates don't get real jobs. I am not talking about freelancing either but a full time job. Nossi is a bull crap college that will get you no where. Please don't make the same mistake I did and go to a real college. I am going to another college and getting a real degree this time so I can pay my loans off for Nossi and the new college I am going to. You want to now where this degree got me a job at well a factory. If anyone has had this same issue please help me place a lawsuit on this college so they can't rip off anymore people. more

HORRIBLE 8/3/2010

Horrible school. Was told my credits would transfer but they didn't. I kick myself for going there.I should have known once I stepped through the door something was wrong. If a college is located in a run-down strip mall, you should probably look somewhere else. Only one decent professor. The college is family owned and seem to be pretty stingy, as is illustrated by the outdated equipment. They are moving to a new location, but if the artist renderings are any indication, it may do more harm than good. It looks really cheesy.Hard to believe the owner is an artist. Tasteless... more

Graduate of Nossi - August 2009 5/16/2010

They're an ok school. They do have their drawbacks, but what school doesn't. They have a couple of good teachers, but most are crappy. Arden Von Haeger is one of the good illustrators. Barbara Higgins-Bond is another. They messed up recently and let Jeff Preston go. He was one of the best illustrators they've had on staff. He's really one of the main reasons I stayed through the Bachelor of Illustration Program. I can't vouch for their photography program, but their graphic design program is decent. The biggest drawback is that they don't currently have a campus, simply 3 buildings in what I like to refer to as the ghetto of rivergate. They have had a campus planned for years now, and I hope the school can improve once they get settled in because I'm currently embarrassed to say I graduated from there. I try to avoid it if at all possible. I just state what degree I have. All in all, when choosing a school, I suggest you follow this checklist:\r \r - Contact graduates on MySpace or Faceb more

An Incredible Education...And FUN! 1/22/2008

I came to Nossi wanting to learn web design. I learned so much more. One year after enrolling, I landed a dream job as a graphic designer with the Summit Agency in Nashville. Before my classes at Nossi I had never even opened Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark or any other design program. Now I use all of those everyday.\r The staff at Nossi is TOP NOTCH! From Rick Schrand (head of graphic design, author and teacher of todays most popular animators) to Jeff Preston (head of Illustration, member of The Society of Illustrators), the instruction is incredible. more

A Joke of a School 10/17/2007

Nossi is a joke. There are 3 good instructors and dozens of bad ones. The FLASH instructer for the Fall semester of '07 DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO START A NEW PROJECT! He didn't show up for the second class, so the students sat in the classroom talking to each other while Rick Schrand (1 of the Good Instructors) went back and forth from his class to try to help them learn something. When they figured out that he wasen't coming back they had to scramble to find a replacement. The students were 4 weeks behind by this point, and the new instructor is about as bad as the first. This is just the most recent case of lousy instruction. Pros: Jeff Preston, Rick Schrand and Allison Logan Cons: All other instructors, Crappy equipment, and a lousy reputation. more
