This is a nice museum considering how lacking West Palm Beach is in cultural facilities. They have a pretty good permenant collection consisting of American art, Chinese art, Contemporary art, European art and Photography. They just added an new wing that is really beautiful. The cost of admission is really affordable. Especially if you are a resident of WPB since with ID, you can get into the museum FREE on Saturdays to see the permenant collection. As a Palm Beach county resident, you can get into the museum free on first Saturdays. more

Go to the museum, not the beach 8/17/2005

The Norton Museum is a great art museum, especially given its location in museum-lacking Florida. The new addition is interesting in its own right as a piece of architecture. The collection of art inside is impressive and well put together. There is a heavy emphasis on Asian art. Other works include classic paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries. Other artists include Picasso, Monet, and O’Keeffe. more

The Best Museum In South Florida 8/15/2005

One of the most and beautiful museums in the area It is known for an extensive collection of European, American and Contemporary Art. It's Chinese art collection is magnificent. Don't miss the contemporary glass ceiling. European artists include Paul Gauguin, Matisse, Monet and Picasso and American Artists including Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe. They have an excellent dining room , gift shop and free guided tours every day at 2 PM. There are many traveling exhibits that come to the Norton. The current one on Photography is superb Admission is only $8.00. more

Great exhibits 8/8/2005

Three floors of permanent exhibitions, as well as travelling exhibits. Currently, one of the travelling exhibits is a photographic exhibit showcasing over 50 years of vacation snapshots. I think it runs until September. I'm not sure if this is just a summer promotion, but every Saturday West Palm Beach residents (with proof of residency) get into the permanent collection free, all other Palm Beach County residents get in free the first Saturday of the month. more
