Honeymoon Tips for Your Honeymoon Trip 9/8/2006

If you are looking for a smaller travel agency to help with planning your honeymoon trip, I would take a look at North Village Travel in Kalkaska, MI. My parents use this travel agency almost exclusively for all of their travel needs. Even if you're not in the immediate area, they are able to book your trip for you or quote a vacation price. As for honeymoons, I spoke with Melanie Vergote, manager at North Village Travel and she suggested the following honeymoon tips: Contact your travel agent as soon as you have a tentative time period in mind. This will allow the travel agent time to be on the look-out for specials and to start working up an itinerary for you. Because travel agents work in the industry every day, they have feedback on which hotels are good (and which aren’t so good), a detail which can make or break the honeymoon experience. Travel agents can also help honeymoon travelers understand which documentation they need to travel, whether it’s a visa, passport or birth certificate. One of the biggest advantages of having a travel agent? “We’re here if they need something along the way,” Vergote said. “Whether there’s snow and they’ve missed the connection, we’re here until they get back. It’s not just booking the trip it’s taking care of things.” Though some couples may think they can get better prices by booking themselves, sometimes the opposite is true. “Say they book a cruise through us, and the cruise line offers a better deal,” Vergote explained. “We’re able to contact them and say ‘there’s a better deal we can roll you over to.’” Vergote says honeymooners should look for three things in a travel agent. “A good travel should be able to answer their questions, ask them questions and help them narrow things down if they’re totally uncomfortable with what they’re doing or what they want to do because it’s new to them,” she said. You won't be disappointed if you call North Village Travel! more
