I am writing this to share about an incident that took place leading to the removal of our 5 month old daughter from Kindercare yesterday. My wife had consistently gone to Kindercare on her lunches to nurse our daughter. As she went yesterday, she found our daughter with a pacifier in her mouth and a burp cloth placed over the pacifier, just under her nose, and wrapped around her head and tucked in to keep the pacifier from being removed. She contacted me immediately and we had our daughter removed from the facility and are currently looking for another care provider. As to why this was done, the pacifier kept falling out. I am sure she was crying, but am opposed to gagging my daughter to deal with what I imagine was a frustrating situation. We have heard conversations by the employees in passing that they wish they could permanently put pacifiers in the children's mouths. Apparently, it has been acted upon. We have since reported this to the Director, Asst Director and have been contacted by the Asst Regional Director about the incident. We personally have lost confidence in the care provided to our daughter there and do not trust that her safety or care was and possibly will be the priority over the employees personal preference and comfort.
