Unfortunately I was unable to give it 0 stars or even better negative 1 million. I can't even believe in 2011 that people would be this nasty, rude and racist. I went to the dry cleaners the morning of Nov 2 and the manager screamed at me as if I was a misbehaving child saying I was talking too softly and not looking at her. Extremely disrespectful. When I told her not to talk in that tone or manner her response was to push my clothes back telling me to leave the store. I told her I wouldn't go anywhere without an apology from her.
She refused to apologize and then we started arguing. In the argument she called me a stupid, crazy black girl. And then she called someone on the phone and gave them my license plates number from my car. I don't know who she was talking to on the other end of the line but apparently she is part of some clandestine group of dry cleaners who retaliate against African Americans who want to be treated like human beings when they are patronizing businesses.
To top it all off she called the police on me telling them that there was a ""black girl in the store causing problems."" How was my race relevant in this situation other than to try to take advantage of stereotypes about African Americans. I never threatened her in any way I only wanted an apology. The police came and told me to call the Better Business Bureau.
The best way to show people like this that this is unacceptable behavior in a civilized society is to not use their business. If you want to be treated with respect as a customer then don't go there.
