North Oaks Retirement Community

My wife's mother lived at North Oaks Retirement Community for nearly six years - first independently then with assistance/hospice care - she rarely missed a meal in the dining room and looked forward to the social activities and entertainment. Staff was always friendly and concerned for her safety and care. Security for her belongings was absolutely never compromised - all of her jewelry, collectibles were safely respected by staff - we highly recommend North Oaks to all - affordable, pleasant, excellent food, and cooperative administration and staff. more

North Oaks has been an excellent community for my mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease 4 years ago. Initially, Mom lived in a beautiful assisted living apartment which was so clean, bright and safe for her (which was a cheery change from her house where she lived before the move). Her cognitive decline necessitated a transfer into the memory care unit which the staff facilitated with compassion and skill. At every step of what has been a difficult journey for my mom and our family, the North Oaks staff have provided us with tremendous support and reassurance. The care they demonstrate seems quite genuine and brings us peace of mind that Mom is being treated with dignity and respect. She is in a very safe environment while she also enjoys excellent meals, social stimulation and emotionally/cognitively enriching activities. We are very grateful for North Oaks Retirement Community and recommend it highly! more

My mom moved in 2014 to North Oaks Retirement Community. She has enjoyed the friends she has made, various activities and the meals prepared. It is a beautiful area and well kept. It was an adjustment period but the family knowing someone is available for her with the push of a button gives great peace of mind. Very pleased. more

North Oaks Retirement Community is well run, immaculate and has a lovely, caring staff. Along with the day to day services there are a plethora of extra activities. The residents are varied but have one thing in common - they are well educated, interesting people who expect to live in a stimulating atmosphere. more

The management is attuned to the needs of residents at North Oaks. The independent living facilities are comfortable and kept in the best conditions. All the employees are competent and caring. The residents are friendly and involved with activities and each other. more

We're very happy! North Oaks Retirement Community is very clean! They're very helpful. My dad has been comfortable from day one! I feel they are most for value for the money. My dad says the activities are good and he has a lot to keep him busy. It’s a great place. It’s not overwhelming. A lot of places we visited were very big and spread out. This one was on a smaller scale. A good fit for dad. more

Because North Oaks Retirement Community was within three miles from our house in Pikesville, and two of my wife's relatives had lived here, it was a logical place to start looking for our final home. It's in a good area of town and so close to everything. A comparison with three other retirement communities in Baltimore County soon elevated it in our minds. We narrowed our choices to continuing care and non-profit, safe area of town, with bus access, level surroundings for strolling, and within an active business area with stores, restaurants, public library, and a bank. North Oaks was near the top-rated in all these categories. Three Metro bus lines pass by the community, or a short walk away, that will take us to many areas of Baltimore and beyond. My wife died as we were making plans to move, so when a vacancy at North Oaks came within weeks, I continued those plans alone. I have never regretted choosing North Oaks, and my five years living here have only validated our choice. more

North Oaks Retirement Community is located in a very quiet setting but still near all the hustle and bustle of Baltimore cultural center. North Oaks is a well run, clean, and efficient community that is large enough to have lots of activities for their resident's along with the proper staffing to secure the needs for all that live there. more
