You can't beat the atmosphere or the views. Right on the edge of the Venice, FL., Jetty wall with views of the boats coming and going the folks anchored out in their boats around Snake Island a few hundred feet away in the Intra Coastal Waterway, fishing swimming and partying away.
Most times I get a view of one or more dolphins playing in the Jetty or of some manatees lolling along the edge of the Jetty wall.
If you love to fish, pick up some frozen shrimp at the Bait House and just cast right off the Jetty wall. Every kind of fish in the Gulf of Mexico usually comes through the Jetty sooner or later.
While your picking up some bait get a pop or a beer and a hot dog. they are as good or better than any you have eaten at a ball game at a fraction of the price. You always find smiling happy people working in the bait shop.
If you love to watch people, come on over to the North Jetty Fish Camp. The pier must be 1,000 feet long or so.
You will love it. It's addictive.
