I'm a client @ North Davidson Vet, I can tell you that the staff is always friendly, Ive never had issues with them and it seems to be the people who dont pay their bills are the ones who post negative comments about the front end staff & office manager bc i have seen them become angry when they are told they need to pay their bill. I've been a client there for many years & would recommend them to anyone!! The staff & doctors are great!! more

I have been going to Dr. Schmunk's for a very long time. I have to say the staff is very compassionate and friendly. I have witnessed some of these negative comments that are being posted and I can tell you from person experience that the only time the office manager or staff is rude is when the person is not getting what they want and there yelling and screaming at the office manager or staff. Because they feel that if they embarrass the staff they will get what they want. If you look at the comments you can tell its people that are angry at not getting what they want or having to pay their bill. This vet is very reasonable when it comes to prices. Yes the wait may be a little long sometimes, but I strongly agree that it is worth the wait. My pet has seen almost all of the other doctors there, and I like them all. I believe if you treat people the way you would wanted to be treated there would be less of these negative comments out there. This is a great vet and I will continue to bring all of my pets here. more

Dr.Schmuck's services r great. Now that the phone has automated answer. Wait can be long w/o an appt. Expense is COST EFFECTIVE.=worth it!! Compared to ANY other vets' here. They are efficient, caring, knowledgable -- able to handle a K9! Go girls!! My vote is for them. Charged me 1/8th cost blood test Denton, Hedrick did-for same tests!! Actually fixed problem first time! more

I have been taking my dogs to North Davidson Vet for close to 20 years. Granted a good portion of the staff is young, (AND THIS IS A BIG BUT) but Dr. Schmunk is very supportive of the area young people seeking a Veterinary career. I agree a good portion of the front end staff is young and not well seasoned. However, I am there for my fury family member. It is the service they get in back is what counts. About 10 years ago I moved to a neighboring county and since taken my dogs to other vets and become shocked by the astronomical prices and so-so service. North Davidson Vet is without any doubt the best and most reasonable priced Vet I have encountered. For my dogs to see Dr. Schmunk, to me, it is worth the 40 minute drive to get there. more

I was going to Dr Smhmunk for 4 years before I finally decided I couldn't deal with his rude staff any longer. They are extremely disorganized and hateful. Especially the office manager which doesn't even have the common decently to show her face in the waiting room. When I asked to see her they said she was at lunch. So I waited. An hour passed, still at lunch. All the while I had staff immaturely peeking out to see if I was still waiting. I had a very important question about billing and I need an answer which the staff could not provide. So I left and I called and guess what? The office manager was there! Hmmm sounds like a real professional office, right? Anyways, I love Dr Smuhmunk and I really wish my pets could still see him but I refuse to deal with the unprofessional, immature and down right ridiculous people he has running his business. I'm sure if he knew what they were doing he would not be pleased. more

I have read the first review and I feel for you. However, not every doc is 100% all the time. I have been taking my dog to Dr. Schmunk for almost a year when I got him. He had a reaction to the flea meds and Dr. Schmunk took him in right away and corrected the problem. Didn't have to pay or anything. My friends recommended him and I understand why. The office is great. They take all walk ins. If you don't have an appointment, you will wait longer as a walk in, but that is in any practice. He has so many clients because he is the best and his prices are so much better than other. He actually loves all his animals. My dog recently had a virus and was so sick, I though he was going to die. I called the office at 10:30 pm on Friday evening, and was in the office by 11 pm with Dr. Schmunk treating him. I don't know any other vet that would do that. I would refer him to anyone and will never take my dog anywhere else. Pros: Most Caring Vet Cons: The wait more

In April 2009, took my dog to ND Vet for frequent urination. After a 3 hr wait Dr. Schmunk look at her quickly and said she has a urinary infection and gave her antibotic and sent us home. About 7 days later she continued to have accidents so I took her back and after another 3hr wait he said she still had infection. After another week she still not getting any better he changed her meds and still after yet another week still getting worse. Next thing he shot dye in her for cancer and said NO cancer and chaned yet again anitbotic. It is now April and decided enough is enough. I spent no less than 12 15 hrs waiting at ND Vet and NO results. I took my dog to another vet, they ran test and got info from ND and 5 days later says she had urethra cancer. After I spend over $400 at ND and 6 weeks it took only 5 days at another vet to get the answer! Pros: Cheap Cons: too long wait more

In response to the revue done in sept, I am truly sorry for your loss, I have been useing DR. shmunk for years, he cannot save all pets but have seen him get up in teh middle of teh night to save a kitten/ mother cat. He has always spent time with the animals when we bring them in, he may look like he is jus tpetting your dog but he is doing a examination at the same time. He listens to our questions and gives great advice,we raise Pitbulls,we spend ALLOT of time at North davidson vet . I recommend them to everyone. If he could save ALL THE ANINALS...he could walk on water also. Did you,with your dog,ask for just an examination with no bloo d work or any ""extra"" work? Some people come in and think that with just a exam you can find things...that is NOT always the case,it can take extensive bloodwork and xray's etc. if you wanted out cheap as possible that would not have been done. I have been going to this vet office since the 60's. I can not imagine the doc. looking at anyone as if they are crazy and I have asked some stupid questions. He has always been nice and understanding of my problems. I know he is very busy and that is because he is good and not because of the prices. I have sent several people to him in the past and they continue to go there and have no complaints. As far as I am concerned, there is no better vet or person. more

This vet's name says it all. We had been a customer for several years. Let me tell you, his low prices are equal to his intelligence. I took my 11 year old dog in and told Dr. ""Shmuck"" that the dog?s breathing was waking me up at night. He looked at me like I was a total nut, listened to the dog's heart and lungs and said it was ?probably? allergies and gave me some pills. 3 months later, the dog fell over on the floor and was rushed to the hospital. ""Shmuck"" said it might be diabetes. 2 weeks later, the dog?s stomach distended like a watermelon. Ran again to Dr. ?Shmuck? who listened again to the dog?s heart and admitted he had missed a heart murmur, the dog was in congestive heart failure and he ?thought? he could save him. The allergy pills from his misdiagnosis had also aggravated the condition. We left him under his care and called twice a day. He didn?t think we should visit. On the 3rd day Dr. ?Shmuck? when we called, said we should come. We could hear Sam breathing before we entered the hospital ward. Our baby was also coughing up ""red fluid"" and could barely walk. He had also been given a bath in preparation for our visit. What continuing torture for a little dog and his family. We made the decision immedietly to put him out of his pain and he died in my husband?s arms before they brought the needle. We truly believe he waited for us to arrive. My family has been long time clients of N. Davidson Vet. They recently expanded to a larger location, which has been a big help. They help so many pets and animals in this area. They are a blessing. Thanks goes to the doctors and staff for all their hard work! Pros: All the things that make a Vets office great.
