Upon graduation from U.C. Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, Dr. Branch joined Dr. L.R. Douglas at the Arcata Animal Clinic. In 1992, Dr. Branch purchased the practice and changed the name to North Coast Veterinary Hospital. After practicing on his own for 14 years, Dr. Carlisle joined NCVH as a partner in 1994. By joining forces the doctors could provide needed services to a larger number of clientele. The partnership had the added benefit of giving the doctors some much needed respite from their 24/7 on-call responsibilities. Our capabilities and expertise expanded further in 2000 when Dr. Mott joined our team as an associate. We have continued to grow and serve our area. As a convenience to our clients and due to the large rural territory we cover, we opened a second office in Fortuna in 2000. In order to provide the most advanced veterinary medicine to our patients, our doctors regularly attend continuing education programs. These programs strengthen our commitment to quality, both in the care of large animals and in our relationships with our clients and community.
