North Carolina Dance Institute

I cannot rate this studio highly enough. I have taken since about 2004, up through the present. I have followed various teachers there - all excellent. This studio has in fact trained a number of dancers who went on to become professional. The studio is warm-hearted but with highly experienced teachers who used to be onstage. I couldn't be happier with these classes - with the warmth, inclusivity, and high degree of expertise. Plus, the dancers themselves are fun to watch, many are so good. more

There are some pleasant people here but the facility itself is very run down. The floors are inexpensive vinyl, very smushed down, and the seams are starting to curl up. I was in two different classrooms and neither had a wood floor. While I was there a wall mirror fell on a student and split in two over her back. I think the owners might invest in the studio to maintain it better. more

The North Carolina Dance Institute is located in the heart of Raleigh on Duraleigh Road. The institute is a non recital and non competition based school for both children and adults. Their goal is to foster a love for dance and to educate. The school offers classes that include classical ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, lyrical, Broadway and rhythm tap, children's preDance and PlayDance, and hip-hop. Some former students have been accepted into the North Carolina School of the Arts School of Dance High School and College Programs and the NCSA Summer Sessions in Dance. NCDI students have also been accepted into Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Summer programs, Broadway Theatre Project in Florida, The Rock School and ABT/NYC Summer Programs. more

The studio is found in Duraleigh Corners listed in the front as "NC Dance". The classes offered are for all ages and at all times of the week! The teachers all have very diverse and interesting resumes. They even offer drama classes for those who want to focus on acting. more
