North Bergen Swimming Pool Pro

After going to the shore and spending a huge amount of money for food and beach passes.....the North Bergen Pool made a lot of sense to join. That's what I did in 2008 and glad I did. Grant it! It's not always the perfect day at the pool. We've had some bad days too....pool closing for several hours because of filter back up...definitely can use more shaded areas...would like a bigger adult pool area... But overall the kids and I have enjoyed the hot summer days just relaxing and talking to friends. Movie nights are really nice...the kids love to swim while watching the big screen and free popcorn from the concession stand made it extra special. The prices and food from the concession stand was affordable and the food was pretty good! Thumbs up! more

Beautiful setting, fabulous kids area, unfortunately the adult lap pool is very poorly maintained. (Lots of debris, oily residues accumulates at the corners, is not a pretty sight. They host great parties here, but the themes/ music are always from the Sixties. I love Frank Sinatra but COME ON....a little musical variety from this decade wouldnt hurt. The food court (independent concession?) is very incompetently run. Slow, I mean ridiculously sssslllllloooooooowwwwww service, staff is always confused, it takes them forever to do a simple order. The family membership is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for the neighborhood!!!! Last time I checked this was a working class neighborhood. If you plan to come as a guest or join, I have 4 suggestions for you: #1- Bring your own skimmer so you can clear a path n the swimming lanes. #2- Bring your own Walkman/Ipod unless you don't mind listening to Frank Sinatra's Ipod selections all day... #3- Bring your own food #4- Bring a Brinks truck full of cash for the family membership...... I was a long time resident of North Bergen. I even worked for four summers at the old North Bergen Pool. I come to visit my family often and now I would like to take my four children to the pool for the day when I come in to visit from out of state but they do not allow day passes. I am very upset. That means if North Bergen families have family come in for a weekend or week they can't take them to spend the day at their town pool. I have been to ""town pools"" all over the East Coast and have never seen a ""town pool"" that did not offer day passes! ""GREAT IDEA NORTH BERGEN, I HOPE YOU ARE MAKING ENOUGH MONEY ON YOUR MEMBERS ONLY TO PAY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE POOL!!!"" more

Wonderful experience! very clean, large areas to avoid crowding and lots of seating. Lifegards were plentiful and alert. Our overall experiece was a fun one. My son is 6 and he loved the spary park and the kiddie pool. The only thing in need was some more shaded areas other than that it was great! I would recommend anyone to sign up it will be where we are hanging out this summer! more
