North Bank Kennels 3/28/2011

My dog has been going to North Bank Kennels for more than a year and he loves it! I can tell he has way too much fun there because he gets so excited when we start going down Heindon Road. Then he can't wait to go back and see all his friends there. I wouldn't take him anywhere else. All the staff is awesome! Thank you North Bank Kennels for making me and my dog so happy! more

An Awesome place to take your dog or cat! 3/16/2011

As a customer and an employee I say with absolute confidence that North Bank Kennels provides the best care for your family's furry friend while you are out of town or just for the day. Our doggie daycare crew always has lots of tail wagging fun, even in the rain because we are equipped with two large fully covered play yards for the pups to romp around in. My 9 month old mixed breed Fae has grown up going to doggie daycare on my long school days, and she is a very happy and social dog because of it. We frequently meet NBK friends on the beaches around Humboldt , which is always fun for us! For our overnight guests we also offer lots of playtime, a heated inside area for sleeping, treats, diamond lamb and rice dog food, luxury baths, and of course LOTS OF LOVE!!! All this dog talk I should also mention that Kitties are always welcome and have a blast in our kitty room!! SO look for us under the giant American flag off the 101, come take a look around and get ready for your pup to go ballistic every time you turn onto Heindon road, I know my girl does! more

North Bank Kennels provides the best care 2/27/2011

North Bank Kennels is well known for providing excellent care of people's pets. They have large, clean play yards for the dogs. They provide Diamond brand lamb and rice dry kibble and treats. Or you can bring your own dog food and treats. They provide bedding, or you can bring your dog's own bed. The kennels are always very clean. They give tours of the facility at any time during office hours. They are the only dog boarding facility in the county annually inspected by Humboldt County Animal Control - who recommend NBK. They always pass these inspections with an excellent rating. The report is posted in their office. Most people know the previous manager, Dawn, was not that great but she is long gone, and now everyone is happy with NBK. She's probably the one who wrote that nasty review. more

If you love your dog... 12/10/2010

From a glance North Bank Kennels looks clean, friendly and responsible. But did you know that your dog isn't fed at all during the first 24 hours he/she stays? Did you know that the treats you send along with your dog are either thrown out or add to the kennels ""complimentary"" dog food as soon as you drive off? Ever wonder why your dogs bed always comes back clean? The answer is they never get their bed, it just sits on top of the inside kennel. Next time your there, ask to see a tour of the facilities, see if you're told to wait just a minute while the employee/owner ""cleans"" up. And when you ask why all the dog beds are not in with the dogs, they'll respond saying they just got done cleaning down the inside, that's a lie. Did you know that the medication you send with you dog doesn't always get to them, and if they forget they throw away the pills to make up the difference so you won't notice? Did you know that a number of dogs have died there due to neglect from the owner/emplyees. Did you know that the way they get your dog to stop barking is by spraying it in the face with the high power hose? Of course you didn't, how could you? It's so easy to hide. more
