My son graduated from Norristown Area High School last year. Throughout his four years there I was pleased with the education and teachers. My daughter entered as a freshman this year. The school went through a change between June of last year and September of the new school year. Basically they went to block scheduling where classes are 80 minutes long, 4 subjects a day, rotating on an a/b day schedule. The school is broken into six learning communities. The school is structered on the First Things First program and is the only district in the area to institute this program.
I can access my child's classwork, attendance, grades, progress reports and report cards online with a special password that was issued in the beginning of the year. This is beneficial when there are abscenses to see what the child missed and needs to make up. Plus a daily check on grades can help prevent a bad grade at report card time.
I am really pleased with Norristown High School, the new First Things First and several of the teachers are just outstanding.
