Overrated - nice restaurant and ok food 3/21/2006

To me Sunny Palace is the most consistantly overrated Chinese restaurant in the area. The building is gorgeous and traditional Chinese wisdom tells you if a restaurant spends a lot on the building they do not put enough into the food and I agree. Their dim sum is ok if you do not know what good food is but I have been to Hong Kong and this is not it. If you want really good Dim Sum, go to Marlboro. The Dim Sum here is not the right consistancy, I do not know how else to explain it. more

If you want Chinese food, there should only be one place to go. That place is Sunny Palace. The buffet is great and the aroma of the restaurant makes your mouth water. The prices are reasonable and the food is very delicious and tasty. more

Yo! This place has the BEST dim sum you will ever find in the USA! All the way, this stuff is off da hook! They have quite a selection but is mostly suitable for Hong Kong taste. If you like things really salty, this is not the palce. If you like things really sweet, this is not the palce. They manage to put around 10 pounds of oil into your food and still have you enjoy it wihotut puking after eating it. Too much MSG though which makes you really tired after eating. That is why their tea is so strong nad potent to keep to awake to pay the bill at the end! more

Great food, great prices! 8/21/2005

Sunny Palace is the best Chinese food restaurant I have ever eaten in, outside of Chinatown! The food is so delicious, fresh and hot when they bring it to your table. The portions are HUGE, two people can easily split one dinner order with some leftover to carry home. The atmosphere is wonderful, I love the decor. We always get a drink or two and I love the brightly colored Mai Tais with umbrella straws in them. I definitely recommend! more

Excellent Value! 8/20/2005

I can't say enough great things about this Chinese food restaurant. the decor is very nice with beautiful tropical fishtanks in the waiting area. The service is also very friendly and the food is delivered like lightning! They have a great Family Special Dinner that can easily feed 3 people for $30 and a special for $40 that can feed 5 people. the exotic drinks are awesome and make you feel like you are in the tropics with the cute little umbrellas in the drinks. Delicious food at very reasonable prices. more

Great Restaurant 8/19/2005

This is definitely one of the nicest Chinese restaurants in the area. The atmosphere makes for a nice outing either for a family dinner or a date. You can get dim sum for breakfast or go for a nice family dinner. The pricing is about average. The food is decently portioned. You will definitely get your moneys worth here. There is even a party room if you ever find the occasion for it. Only Crown Palace in Marlboro can compare but that is far away if you're in the East Brunswick area. more
