BAD SERVICE 4/9/2011

The food is just okay, not too crazy about it. But the service is definitely bad.First, I asked some question about the menu but the waitress doesn't seems to care and very rude to us. We ordered our food anyway and while waiting for our food to be serve, I start feeding my baby some baby food. About 10-15 mins, our food came out which is pretty quick (A+ plus). But when the waitress came by with our plates of food, she simply just so clumsy and set my plate (hot) in front of my baby and even knocked down the bowl of my baby's food. She did not say anything to me nor apologizing and just walk away pretending nothing happen. Luckily I manage to get the hot plate away before my baby try to reach it. I was so mad but I try to keep my cool in front of my two kids. The whole time we dine there the waitress never come back to our table to check on us. So, guess what? I decided not to give any tips base on the poor service. Upon leaving the restaurant, the owner of the restaurant came rushing at me and asked about the tips. I told her about the poor service of her waitress but she doesn't seems to care and I can see her mumbler some words and walked back to her restaurant. Wow, never expect all this ... never go back to this restaurant EVER. more

Good experience turned BAD 3/20/2011

We were faithful customers of this place for more than a year. We used to go every weekend, thought the food was average, but my husband liked it and there was a particular noodle dish both my young son and I found palatable. But one time we were there, the vegetables in the noodle soup were clearly rotten and had a bad taste . I brought this to the owner's attention, (since we are there EVERY WEEKEND, she knows us well.) but she denied it firmly. I gently communicated with her that we like the dish, that's why we ordered two every time and I am sure this is the only time it's bad. She still didn't apologize and when we got the bill, she charged full prices on both noodles (we ordered two, and whole bunch of other dishes.) Even though my son couldn't eat his due to the rotten smell! Not only that, the last time we went, the owner (who usually greeted us warmly) totally ignored us and pretended that we were not there. Why would a business owner throw away faithful customers (who brought them 2-3 hundred dollars profits every month ) for the mistake due to her own negligence is beyond me, but we will never go back again neither will we recommend this place-there are so many noodle places you can go in Columbia, don't risk your health! more

noodle soup - great. other noodles - odd. other dishes - light fare covered in syrup. If this is your taste in food, it's a nice place. 6/17/2008

This is one of those asian fusion places - which means use asian food as a base but replace all beef and pork with chicken and add a lot of sugar to everything. this is great in beverages like thai iced tea (the sugar, not the chicken). and they have a sparkling homemade lemonade that is really a treat. but I'd only order the pine nut shrimp if I like my fried shrimp glazed in pink syrup; there's something a little weird to their calamari batter, the potstickers just don't taste right without pork, and the non-soup noodles are just not to my taste at all-- I love chow fun but can't eat theirs. I enjoy their hong kong wonton noodle soup, and the buddha bowl is also very nice. Incidentally, these two are comfort food for those of us who actually are asian. When i'm really sick i send my sweetie out for the noodle soup (their carryout service is fast!). Otherwise-- I used to get dragged here for lunch by coworkers a lot, which is why i've given the place so many chances and tried so many of the dishes. as far as asian food in columbia goes, this isn't bad. but i need to get to rockville or wheaton every so often so I can get something authentic other than soup. Pros: service, value, atmosphere Cons: food more

One of my standbys for workday lunch 4/26/2007

Quite a nice little pan-Asian cafe. I often get the Buddha Bowl for lunch. It's a very generously sized bowl full of hot broth, noodles, and fresh veggies: bok choy, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, and snow peas. I usually ask them to add tofu, also. It's a very simple dish, but very good, and very healthy. Lunchtime is always busy (though I've never had a problem getting a table). Pros: Great, healthy food; friendly staff Cons: Ambiance is a little on the chilly side more

I walked in with my girlfriend... the waitress had problem speaking english, and did not let us sit in a seat we wanted... surprise, surprise... the couple that came in after us got our seats... we walked out, and will never come back to this place... Pros: walking out of restaurant Cons: worst service ever! more

The best oriental food. Period. 5/16/2005

The best oriental food that I've ever tasted, at the best price that I've ever paid. Pros: taste, price, service Cons: none, none, none more

Noodles Corner is the BEST! 3/14/2004

Great variety of asian noodle-based meals - I'm a picky eater and I can always find something good on their menu and they will substitute ingredients if you ask. Arrive early, as they dining room is small and fills up quickly. Start with pot stickers or the calamari w/ sweet and sour sauce, highly recommend the curry chicken, and wash it down with a thai iced tea! Pros: Vareity, Service, Ambience more
