Menu variety excellent. Service good or poor depending on waiter or waitress. Food excellent or poor depending on whether the chef or fry cook is on duty. Lunch and dinner a better bet than breakfast, unless you like cubed potatoes cooked in french fry oil. more

Yes and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. We went on Fathers Day and had the worst experience. Besides the food being served up cold and flavorless, the service and attitude of the employees was horrible. My girlfriend ordered the eggs benedict. The potatoes were cold, the hollandaise was bland and the eggs overdone. I ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich. The menu states nothing of there being cheese on the sandwich. When it arrived the frys were cold and it was covered in cheese. Some may find this to be a bonus but I have low tollerance for items that are put on an order that are not on the menu. I also have an allergy to dairy so something like this could cause a serious problem. The waitress didn't return so I flagged her down and explained my situation very politely stating that I didn't notice that cheesse was on the item and that I have an allergy to dairy. She stated it wasn't on the menu and asked what I wanted her to do about it. I said I would like one as it appears on the menu - without cheese. Here is where the story goes south. She returns to the kitchen and I hear her explain that "some guy has a problem with cheese being on his order". He head chef replies with "well then scrape it off and send it back". I couldn't believe my ears. Scrape it off? Are you serious? The waitress didn't return with my order, they sent it out with the bus boy. Before he could slip away I immediately flip open the bun to find about 1/3 of the cheese still on the order. I say "this is unacceptable". He responds with would you like something else. At that point I tell him "no, if you can't get it right the first two times I'm not going to attempt a third. Please remove it from my order". He goes back and relays my message to the chef. The chef then proceeds to storms over to the table and in a raised voice ask "Is there a problem". I state my case explaining that it is not only dumb but careless to serve up items that are not included on the menu. I wouldn't expect to find an egg on my sandwich, nor peanutbutter nor mayonaise so why should I expect to find cheese. He replies with "are you calling me stupid in my restaurant?". At that point I should have just walked out. But I wanted to explain my reasoning not only for my benefit but also for his. Serving up items without mentioning them could pose a danger to someone. He cut me off stating that "Every few months someone complains about an ingredient on the menu that isn't listed. To them I suggest if they have a problem with it that they don't eat out." He then stated that if I was finished that I leave and sarcastically stated "Have a nice day". I strongly recommend that anyone considering going there to steer clear of the place. ! more

So far, this is the only restaurant that has consistently provided a san francisco quality dining experience without leaving our scenic terrifica. The kitchen sink salad always pleases my healthy palette and the amazing crab cakes are succulent moist and. Try the bbq anything the because the amazing house bbq sauce is quite honestly out of this world. more

Nona's Kitchen serves home-style cooking - providing your mother was a FABUOUS cook! The chef/owner makes excellent pot roast, raviolis, grilled meat dishes, soups and his specials are always worth checking out. You can get good wines by the glass and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. He has no use for vegetarians, but does have dishes available without meat. more

My boyfriend and I are regulars at this cute little restaurant next to Linda Mar beach. I believe this restaurant is one of Pacifica's best kept secrets. The yummy buttery pastries that are always on the house are delicious and if you come at the right time, fresh out of the oven for that melt-in-your-mouth taste. Breakfast is very straightforward at $8-10 a pop and the chef/owner adds his own flair to his meals which remind of the more expensive breakfast places in SF. AFter breakfast, head down for a walk on the beach to watch the surfer's surf and the dogs run. Definitely worth a trip down the coast! more

Dining at Nona's Kitchen is always a treat. We try to go at least once a month, and have experienced brunch, lunch, and dinner. What the simple establishment lacks in decor finery it more than makes up in taste, portion, and budget. With seasonal picks and alternating specials this place is sure to offer something pleasing to everyone. more

My wife, son and I have made Nona's a regular part of our dinning experience. The best of comfort food. Never had a bad experience or meal in the several years since they opened. Don't hesitate. more

Great home style cooking. Plain and simple. From pot roast to meatloaf, Nona's offer's a style of food reminscent of what my grandma would make, and all the food is done very well. The soups are especially good. Don't be afraid to spend a little extra for a very plain meal, because plain doensn't mean bad. A+ of a restaurant. more

Decent prices. I was there for Dinner time, on both of my visits. The first time the meal and the complimentary 'biscuits' & honey butter filled me up, so I was too full to get dessert. So I went back the following week to get dessert. For my dinner the first trip, I had a fabulous pasta dish. It was $12.00, but it was delicious and filled me up. On my second trip, I managed to get the last piece of the day's "special dessert", which was Chocolate Mousse Pie. (Which I found out is made by the Head Chef/Owner's own Mom.) All I can say is "Yuuuummmy! (The Mousse, that is.) Both trips were on a Saturday, arriving at about 5:30, when they open for dinner. My friends and I got there just as the doors opened the first time. On my second trip, there were at least a dozen people or more, waiting for the doors to open. On both trips, the place filled up VERY quickly. It's a small place, but very worthwhile. (Seats maybe 35 to 40 people at a time. There is a barstool area facing the cooking area. Aprox. 6 bar seats.) You CAN order food to go. When he is able to step away from cooking, the Head Chef/Owner likes to come out and greet his customers, making sure they are happy with their meal. (Always a major plus, in my book.) more
