Nomi

Several friends and I went for drinks and dinner last summer and were truly disappointed not to mention insulted by our waiter and the manager. One of our party is strictly vegan and informed the waiter of this. He brought her gazpacho with a lumb of crabmeat as garnish and cheese on her appetizer plate. Aside from the fact she specifically stated she was a vegan, thank goodness she did not have an allergy to seafood. The waiter and manager both argued with our entire party stating the menu listed the ingredients were listed on the menu. When she asked if she could have something elase, the waiter brought her a plate of carrot sticks. Aside from the drinks, I have nothing good to say about this restaurant. The manager did not even offer to compensate our bill for the appetizer. The food was terrible and the service worse. What a disappointment. more

Nomi is gorgeous. Service was wonderful. Unfortunately, out of the 10 in our party the majority were pretty disappointed with the food. Four had trout and all four absolutely hated it. The entire dish was doused in balsamic and served with pureed cauliflower that was brown (from the balsamic, I presume) and tasted terrible (not to mention visually unappetizing). The deconstructed rib eye was ""tasteless"" and another had the lobster stuffed chicken and thought the sauce was much too heavy. Two of us had the special of the night: grilled Ahi tuna with a chili lime sauce with mushrooms and red pepper risotto and it was excellent. We both loved it. Wine prices were reasonable. Interesting martini menu. Atmosphere gets sort of ""clubby"" around 11ish. Overall, there are better restaurants for the same price. However, the staff was great (from the servers to the owners) and that makes a difference. For that, I'll go back and try again.
