I used to take my daughters there while I was at the gym next door. Never, ever again.
First, it is not very secure. The small ""door"" they have to prevent children from going out is too low. Any child can reach the simple hook lock and open it. Also, I have gone in to pick up my daughter(s) and had to actively search out someone who worked there to tell them I was leaving with her. Saw lots of kids, but no one actually supervising them. I could have walked out with my child and they would have never noticed.
Which brings me to the next issue, there are far too many children for the number of staff members. If you ask the owner, she will tell you that someone called in sick or someone is running late, etc. She's lying. If you look up their reports on the state's website, you can see that this has been an issue before.
There were also many times that they were out of sign in/out sheets. Apparently, making copies was just too much trouble for them, and the owner did not seem concerned when I brought it to her attention. The fact that it would be days later before they actually put more out attests to that. I believe this is a requirement. If not, it is definitely a safety issue. If they building needs to be evacuated (fire, etc), they need to know who is in the building.
On one occasion my daughter had a mysterious mark which looked like a bite. No one could tell me what happened. Probably because children are left unattended to often. On another occasion I saw one child repeatedly hitting another, who was crying. This time there was an employee there, and she was doing absolutely nothing. I had to step in and take care of the situation while she sat in a rocking chair doing absolutely nothing. By the way, neither of those children were even mine.
My children were there for a total of maybe 4 hours a week for a month, and it was too long. I wouldn't even leave my dog there. If you do a web search, you will find many other parents who feel the same way. These people have absolutely no business ""caring"" for children.
