Wife and I have no credit history. We disclosed this to them right from the get go, and they said no problem we can use unconventional credit using utility statements and records. We we re led to believe that everything was going smoothly until 3 weeks later when they declined us for having no credit history. Uh, okay that s one of the first things we discussed and led us on for almost a month to believe they would approve us only to fin out we were declined. Loan officers need to better communicate with the credit/underwriting department. Loan officers need to be up front with their customers and tell them if they are able to work with them or not. Don t waste people s time and energy leading people to believe you will work with them for you then to turn around in the end and say oh sorry you don t have credit. Why does it take a month to figure this out? Plug in all the customer s info and if they don t have credit and you don t work with people like that say so upfront not after a month!
