A NW Portland staple. Friendly, interesting people; regulars and staff. Fine service. Typically tasty comfort foods. Windows on street scene provide views in the summer, including beautiful people and occasional nut cases. Cozy in the winter, though a tad grimy and redolent. Good Samaritan Hospital regulars at lunch, becoming more eclectic as the day progesses. A short but effective range of beers on tap. Bottles too. No mixed drinks. Fifty-cent tacos on Monday evenings. House mottos are ""Tax Lattes Not Beer"" and ""Smoke Free 'til Three (p.m.)"" Look out for your health after that. (Note the sign ""This entire establishment is designated a smoking area."") Several TVs play sports with folks who diligently watch them. I love this place. A neighbothood tavern with good Feng Shui.
