great Chinese food the Best in the hole Wyoming valley and very good price for the amount of food you get . I found them back in 1997 and will never buy Chinese food at else were but for the # 1 Chinese Restaurant 16 gateway shopping center more

I have been a customer since they had a dining room attached. They are reasonable in price and food is delicious! Their English isn't that great but the speed of pick up food is around 10-15 minutes.I am totally happy with this place. more

I am so disapointed with No1. The first time I was there and it was delicioius... I loved it! The next time I went it wasn't as good, I figured there were having a bad day, so I tried again today it is lousy!!!!! Ordering is a hassle but if the food was good it would be worth it. I don't think I wil be eating there anymore. more

I was more than satisfied when I ordered from ""No. 1"". As a Chinese-food fanatic I was impressed by their menu. However, when you call to place your order their English is very poor and you find yourself repeating your order two to three times. It doesn't take very long to arrive, and they deliver all the way to Swoyersville from Edwardsville, which I like. I also like that sometimes the delivery boy will just let himself in if you don't answer the doorbell.When out of the corner of your eye, you see him standing in your mud-room, it's a nice surprise. If you like the classic type chinese with crunchy chicken for general tso, sesame, etc then you will like this place. They give you very GENEROUS portions, your dish, rice, egg roll, soup and of course the fortune cookie. The food is not delivered far (I think like a 3-5 mile radius) but it always arrives HOT. Dont confuse with the other chinese place in the gateway (they are not 1/2 as good)--this one is towards the Saxon. The only thing is they dont speak english well so if you have a ""special"" order they dont always ""get it"". And delivery (while convenient normally takes 45-1 hr). I first used this Chinese food rest. Dec 31st. My first order was great! I figured I would use them again and made a larger order this time. The Shrimp eggrolls were smaller, not cooked enough to where you bite and the dough kind of streches alittle, there were 3 shrimps in my entire roll with not enough filling. I ordered 2 combination platters, chicken and brocoli with pork fried rice (which both came with the shrimp egg rolls I wanted) and a chicken lo mein w/ pork fried rice. The lo mein was dry with a kind of old raw taste to it, not enough sauce and the chicken and brocoli, the brocoli wasn't even cooked well like they would normally do it- the sauce wasn't even saucy, it was more like a jellatin feeling, and the rice well, that was not fried rice. It did not even come with the chinese long onions or little greens and absolutely no taste or veggies, like the little onions they normally throw in. Also, maybe a few tossed pork pieces. I must have used all the soy packets they gave me. I liked the convinience of using my cc to order out delivery, but I do not think I will order after this experience. They need to stick to one cooker, the one who cooked on the 31st!!!!!!!!!!!! more

As Chinese goes, the prices are pretty much the same everywhere, but the quality of food varies greatly. No. 1 Restaurant of Edwardsville/Kingston (not to be confused with other No. 1 restaurants in the area) simply has the best Chinese take out in the area. more
